AN ORDINANCE

TO amend and re-enact certain sec-
tions of an ordinance passed May 7th,
1907, entitled "Water Ordinance."
Be It Ordained by the Mayor and
Common Council of the Town of Lees -
her � in Virginia, that section 3 of
Arttele , of the Nater Ordinance of
said Town adopted May 7th, 1907, be
amended and re-emacted so as to read

s follows : "Ail tapping of the water
Mains shall be made by a competent
Plumber, who, before doing so shall
execute bond with approved security,
before the Mayor of said Town, in the
penalty of One Thousand Dollars,
conditioned for the faithful and eth-
cient discharge of his duty, who shall
tap the mains of the town In the man-
ner and under the conditions provided
in this ordinance, and his work shall
becertffled and reported by the super-
intendent. Said Plumber shall cou.
struct the service pipe to the curb line,
including the curb cock and box. He
shall bore under ail paved strs,.ts and
sidewalks, and restore them to a good
and solid condition. For any failure
to do so be shall be fined not less than
one nor more than Twenty Do!lars."
That section 4 of said Article be
amended and re-enacted so as to read
as follows
"Upon the property owner, or other
party desiring to,eounect with the wa-

ter main omplyitfg with section 2 of
this article, and paying to the Ser-
e.
geant, as a franchise tax the sum of
One Dollar, and filing certificate that
the plumber has executed the bond a.
provided in the foregoing section, the
Superintendent shall issue to him or
her a written permit for the privilege
desired, but the introduction of water
shall in all cases be made under the
control of the superintendentand with
proper fittings as in this ordinance
provided, and the plumber in charge
shall within forty-eight hour. after
completing the work, make report to
the superintendent,showing what work
has been done, what has been install-
ed on the;premiscs
requiring the use of
water, and no water to be turned on
until said report is made.
And said Superintendent shall at
once report the name to the auditor.
The sections aforesaid, to sec-
tions 3 and q of :\rile" of said water
ordinance aro hereby repealed sod
adopted as am.adcd.
