M., who then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Roll Call as Follows: PRESENT: Councilmen- Dickason, Fitzjohn, Merritt, Nunamaker, Tyrell ABSENT: Councilmen -None ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Woollett & Mr. Geller representing the County Library, and Mr. Fickes of Fickes & Fickes, Architects, Mr. Fickes presented three schematic maps of the library area displaying 3 different positions and shapes of the 10,000 sq. ft. building laid out in respect to the park. He explained in detail re- garding outline of each plan and recommending Plan C which showed an obl ,fig building parallel to Las Tunas Drive, with the entrance toward the park area with a wide overhang, and also a patio in front of that with access available from Golden West, and also from the parking area to the west of the building. He advised he had gone over this with Mr. Geller and Chief Librarian Henderson who were very much in favor of Plan C. This plan also gave a driveway on the north end for cars to enter the parking lot from Golden ',West. The Council studied each detail at length pertaining to the lay -out of the building, the driveway entering from Golden West, the patio, over -hang area and proposed lay -out of the interior. They were concerned about potenti®3 enlargement in the Future and it was ex- plained by Mr. Geller that the County Library Department considered this library would be adequate to serve the City when it had reached the saturation point and that all these things had been taken into consideration by their Department, and also that they were well pleas- with Plan C. Councilman Nunamaker moved to approve Schematic Plan C as submitted by Fickes & Fickes, Architects, Councilman Fitzjohn seconded and carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmen - Dickason, Fitzjohn, Meriitt, Nunamaker, Tyrell NOES: Councilmen - -None ABSENT: Councilmen -None City Manager Woollett requested the Council to consider two requests he had received which needed immediate action. 1. County Fair Banners Across Las Tunas Dr. They request permission to put these banners up right away. Councilman Fitzjohn moved to approve and grant permission subject to the City Attorney's approval of liability factors, Councilman Merritt seconded, and carri- ed. 2. American National Red Cross, request Red Cross banner for 10 days preceding the Bloodmobile date of Sept. 10. City Manager Woollett advised that Foley Advertising Co. will put up the banners for both affairs and they have done this many times in Temple City and have necessary liability insurance. Councilman Nunamaker moved to grant the request, Councilman Fitzjohn seconded, and carried. Mr. Geller reminded.the Council of the Anniversary Celebra- tion of the County Library (50 yrs.) on Sept. 12, 1962. Chas. Hamby of The Methodist Chdreh requested the Council to consider better lighting in Temple City Park, and was advised it was under consideration.
