ORDINANCE NO. 01 -855
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AMENDING THE TEMPLE CITY ZONING CODE RELATIVE TO
THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF PERMITTED CONDOMINIUM UNITS IN
ANY GIVEN PROJECT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY HEREBY ORDAINS AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Based upon findings contained in the Planning Commission Resolution
No. 01- 1977PC and based upon information provided in the Staff report and minutes of the
Planning Commission meetings of January 9, 2001 and February 27, 2001 and based upon a
public hearing conducted before the City Council on April 3, 2001, the City Council amends the
Temple City Zoning Code as described in Section 3 below.
SECTION 2. This project should result in no significant effects upon the
environment, and a Negative Declaration has been prepared in accordance with the State
CEQA Guidelines. The initial statement as prepared indicates that there is no potential for
adverse impact to the environment as it relates to all wild animals, birds, plants, fish,
amphibians and related ecological communities, including the habitat upon which the
wildlife depends for its continued viability.
SECTION 3. The City Council amends the Temple City Zoning Code as follows:
ARTICLE V
CHAPTER III - CONDOMINIUM CONVERSIONS
SECTION 9533. DESIGN CRITERIA
Residential condominium conversions shall be permitted only in Zones R -2 and R -3 provided,
however, that no condominium conversion projects shall be considered or approved with less than
three dwelling units.
(A) The minimum lot area for each condominium unit, regardless of the number of bedrooms, shall
be 3,600 square feet for R -2 and 2,400 square feet for R -3 zones.
ARTICLE IV
CHAPTER IV — CONDOMINIUM CONSTRUCTION
SECTION 9562.
(B) Condominium construction shall be permitted only in R -2 and R -3 Zones provided, however,
no condominium project shall contain Tess than three dwelling units.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and
to its approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published according to law.
