ORDINANCE NO. 01 -856U
AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REPEALING
ORDINANCE 00 -853U RELATING TO A MORATORIUM ON NEW
DEVELOPMENTS AND DEVELOPMENT ENTITLEMENTS IN THE
COMMERCIALLY ZONED PROPERTIES WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA FOR
THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY SURVEY AREA AS
ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION 00 -3960
The City Council of the City of Temple City does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Based upon a bona fide effort to study the feasibility of forming a new redevelopment area
along Las Tunas Drive, the City Council adopted and extended an Urgency Ordinance to impose a moratorium
upon new development within the commercially -zoned property of the survey area in order to prevent any
development which might be inconsistent or contrary to the ultimate redevelopment plan, should one be finalized.
SECTION 2, On April 17, 2001, the City Council formally cancelled the study effort to explore the
feasibility of forming a Las Tunas Drive Redevelopment Project Area and a Rosemead Municipal Parking Lot
Project.
SECTION 3. As the study efforts have now been cancelled, the moratorium, which was enacted and
extended, is no longer applicable and is hereby repealed. The moratorium on new developments and new
development entitlements is rescinded immediately upon the adoption of this Ordinance.
SECTION 4. The Council finds that this urgency Ordinance should be adopted as an emergency
Ordinance to become effective immediately in order to remove the restrictions of a moratorium that is no longer
valid.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this urgency Ordinance and shall
cause the same to be published according to law.
SECTION 6. The effective date of this urgency Ordinance shall be May 1, 2001.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of May, 2001.

No. 01 -856U, was introduced as an urgency Ordinance at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Temple City held on the 1st day of May, 2001, and was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council,
approved and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk at a regular meeting held on the 1st day of May,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman - Souder, Vizcarra, Zovak, Gillanders, Wilson
NOES: Councilman -None
