The reading of the minutes of the last meeting was dispersed with. Ordered that the matter of the sewer on Cornwall Street be recommitted to the Sewer Committee for further investigation and to be acted upon at the next meeying of the Council. The Auditor made a report as to the condition of the town's finances and made some recommendations and suggestions. On motion the above report was re- j ferred to the Finance Comciittee. I / On motion made and duly seconded it was ordered that the Water Co,,mittee be V" empowered to purchase necessary repairs for keeping inro er condition the Wate: P p YO V �� system. R V The matter of the election of a Night watchman was taken up. The / Va names of the following applicants were presented- Frank Atwell, Neal Virts, Mr.Croueh and mr.Umbaugh. After some discussion the Council unanimously 1 V elected Mr. Umbaugh,his duties to begin October 1,1921. i The application of Max Davis for a license was referred to the Finance Com- ;1 mittee. I'ij II �✓1 Mr. Ewing,Committee from Chamber of Commerce requested that they be allowedI'� J to use chairs from the town hall 1n the Court House yard to seat the people 11 y itto bLewis Nixon on the 16th inst. On attendance at the address n a y o be ma 6* SL r i motion the request was granted.II The Chamber of Commerce extended an invitation to the Mayor and Council pn to occupy seats on Lhe platform from which Mr.Nixon made his address,and the invitation was accented. i; I 1 it The matter of securing $3000.,for street repairs was referred to the is Finance Committee to report at next meeting.
