The minutes of the last meeting were read and signed.
Mr. W.B.Caviness,representing the Sr.hool Board,requested permission
to connect with town sewer for the purpose 0f draining excavation on
School lot . Perr,ission was E -ranted and work to be done under super-
vision of Sevier Committee.
Matter of license,Mex Davis.- Thu Firance Committee reported. that
in their judgment he should not be granted license for handling hides
rags and other objectionable matter.,but that he could obtain license
Por 1,ardling, iron. The Mayor requested the Sergeant to writ upon Mr.
Davie and make known to him the view of the Finance Committee and to
notify him to provide some place outside the corporation of Leesburg
to handle objectionable matter.
Matter of painting, the Water Towor continued.
Bids for layirg seiner on Cornwall street were opened and Vere as
dollows J.B.lurley $265.00 ',r a complete job,using 6 in terra
cotta pipe with four outlets to curb. W.h.Broak r _,3 for the
same size of pipe.
On motion m,, -,e and seconded it was ordered that M.Turley be awarded
the contract with the understandti* that one half the cost be hcrne
ty Miss Hill and the Other half by the Tvvi of Leesburg.
Cor:plairt havinp, been made as to the untimely 'cu -a kept by the
Colored }fall on Royal Street,the Sergeant was instructed to see that
said Hall is closed at 11 oclock P.M.
The Town Hall Committee wag ordered to purchase stoves f— twon
rail at as reasonable price as possible
