At a Special Meeting of the Mayor and Common Council,held in the
Council Chamoer,Less burg, Va.,May loth 1922,called for the purpose or
discussing tre .feasibility of tarring the streets and any other matter,,
that might come be*ore tre Council.
Present- Hon. C.P.Jer,neylMayor,
john T. Hour ihane,Pe corder
W.B.Caviness,
W.C.Saffer
L. T. Fry
G. b.Bradfieid, Councilmen.
The minutes o- the last meeting were read and signed.
It was moved,aeconded and carried that the Mayor appoint a Committee
d \ to co8operate with the committee of the Chamber of Com,aerce to devise
fk r.ome practical mans to assist the taring of the streets, The Mayor
appointed Mr i1,.T.Fry,a eonurittee of one to act with the above Commitee
and report to the next meeting of the Council
On motion made and carried the Council appointed the Mayor a Commit-
tee to ascertain the ,coat of tarvia and the beet manner of securing
same and report to the next regular meeting of the Council.
X On motion made and carried,it was ordered that the regular meetings
of the Mayor and Common Council shall be held on Mnnday Evenings in-
ti
v stead of Tuesday evenings so heretofore and the hour shall be B
oelock P.M.instead of 7.40 until further notice.
On motion made and carried,Mr. Fra,;,k >teadwar. was appointed care
taker of the fire hose to fill t' ?lace rade vacant by the death of
1rreGeorpe Rvan and he is to reroive twenty f+•.•e dollars per year for
h1r, services.
