Regular Session
July 12, 1994
The Greencastle Common Council met in regular session on Tuesday July 12, 1994 at 7:30 p.m.
at Tzouanakis Intermediate School. On call of the roll the following members were shown to be present:
Councilor Tom Roach, Councilor Jerry Calbert, Councilor Sue Murray, Councilor Charles Miles, Councilor
Mike Rokicki. Also present was City Attorney John Zeiner.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of June 14 regular session and June 17 special session were distributed to Council..
Councilor Calbert moved to approve the minutes as distributed. This motion was seconded by Councilor
Roach and was carried by an aye unanimous vote.
Department Reports:
In addition to monthly statistical reports the following comments were presented.
Councilor Rokicki asked about the rusty water problems on Shadowlawn. Mr. Phillips indicated that he
would check into it.
Mayor Harmless noted that he is working with INDOT on the transfer of old SR240.
Mr. Zeiner indicated that he has been working on contracts and construction projects. Councilor
Rokicki asked about the violation bureau ordinance. Mr. Zeiner noted that the ordinance is drafted but other
items necessary for implementation are not yet complete. Concerning the bridge discussions, Mr. Zeiner
said we should have some information by the next meeting. Councilor Roach asked about the personnel
policy. Mr. Zeiner said he had just received it for review. Councilor Miles asked about the Zinc Mill
demolition. Mr. Zeiner noted that the work is progressing.
® Recommendations and Requests:
Ordinance 1994 -7, An Ordinance Approving the Petition of Lee and Linda Perry to Vacate Public
Right -0f -Way in the City of Greencastle, Indiana was presented to Council. Mr. Zeiner indicated that the
Perrys have withdrawn the petition. Councilor Murray moved to dismiss Ordinance 1994 -7 from
consideration. This motion was seconded by Councilor Miles and was carried by an aye unanimous vote.
Resolution 1994 -16, A Resolution Requiring Citizens Requesting Vacations of Public Rights -Of -Way
Be Represented by Counsel, was presented to Council. Councilor Roach moved to table Resolution 1994-
16. This motion was seconded by Councilor Rokicki and was carried by an aye unanimous vote.
Council Reports and Comments:
Special sessions of Council were set for July 21st at 5:00 p.m. at Greencastle Middle School and
July 26th at 6:30 p.m. location to be announced.
Councilor Rokicki asked about the status of the flashing light installation. Mayor Harmless noted
that the signed agreement with INDOT has note yet arrived.
With no further business Councilor Calbert moved for adjournment. This motion was seconded by
Councilor Roach, was carried by an aye unanimous vote, and the meeting / was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
