HomeMy Public PortalAbout7/21/1994 specialGREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL • Special Session July 21, 1994 The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Thursday, July 21, 1994 at 5:00 p.m. at the Greencastle Middle School. On call of the roll the following members were shown to be present: Councilor Tom Roach, Councilor Jerry Calbert, Councilor Sue Murray, Councilor Charles Miles, Councilor Mike Rokicki. Also present was City Attorney John Zeiner. Recommendations and Requests: Ordinance 1994 -11, An Ordinance Fixing Salaries of Elected Officers of the City of Greencastle for the Year 1995, was presented to Council. Councilor Murray moved to table Ordinance 1994 -11 to the meeting of July 26th. This motion was seconded by Councilor Roach and was carried by an aye unanimous vote. Ordinance 1994 -10, An Ordinance Establishing the Size of Departments of City Government of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, Fixing Salaries for the Employees of Such Departments and fixing Salaries of Certain Other Appointed Officials for the Year 1995, was presented to Council and read in its entirety by Mayor Harmless. Councilor Roach moved to approve Ordinance 1994 -10 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Murray. It was noted that the ordinance represents a 4% increase for all full time employees and $.15 per hour for hourly part time employees. Councilor Rokicki • noted that at some point the city will have to address the equity issue. After further discussion the motion to approve was carried by an aye unanimous vote. Mayor Harmless declared Ordinance 1994 -10 to have been passed on first reading. It was noted that Ordinance 1994 -10 would be presented for final reading at the meeting of July 26, 1994, along with first reading of Ordinance 1994 -11. Council Reports and Comments: Phil Junker of G /PCDC reported to Council that G /PCDC had signed an option with Sherwin Williams for the sale of land and that an easement for utilities would be forthcoming. With no further business Councilor Murray moved for adjournment.
