HomeMy Public PortalAbout7/26/1994 specialGREENCASTLE COMMON COUNCIL ® Special Session July 26, 1994 The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. at the Greencastle Fire Department. On call of the roll the following members were shown to be present: Councilor Tom Roach, Councilor Jerry Calbert, Councilor Sue Murray, Councilor Charles Miles, Councilor Mike Rokicki. Also present was City Attorney John Zeiner. Recommendations and Requests: Ordinance 1994 -10, An Ordinance Establishing the Size of Departments of City Government of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, Fixing Salaries for the Employees of Such Departments and fixing Salaries of Certain Other Appointed Officials for the Year 1995, was presented and read by title only by Mayor Harmless. Councilor Roach moved for approval of Ordinance 1994 -10 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Murray. On call for the question the motion was carried by an aye unanimous vote. Mayor Harmless declared Ordinance 1994 -10 to have been passed and adopted this date. Ordinance 1994 -11, An Ordinance Fixing Salaries of Elected Officers of the City of Greencastle for the Year 1995, was presented and read in its entirety by Mayor Harmless. Councilor Murray moved to approve Ordinance 1994 -11 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Miles. On call for the question the motion to approve Ordinance 1994 -11 was carried by an aye unanimous vote. Proposed form of Ordinance 1994 -12 was distributed to Council for discussion at the next meeting. Council Reports and Comments: Councilor Rokicki asked if Council needed to vote on the request from Putnam County to place a • 911 antenna on the city water tower. Councilor Murray asked if it had been tested. Councilor Rokicki responded that it had. Mayor Harmless and Mr. Zeiner suggested that the city request a release from liability. Mr. Zeiner is to prepare such agreement for the Board of Works signatures. Councilor Calbert asked if additional lighting would be necessary on the antenna. Councilor Rokicki noted that the antenna was not very high and would not require additional lights. August Council meetings were announced to be: August 9, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. at Tzouanakis Intermediate School, August 18, 1994 at 5:00 p.m. at Tzouanakis Intermediate School, August 25, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. at Tzouanakis Intermediate School. Councilor Rokicki asked if the Trash Hauling contract comes before Council. Mr. Zeiner responded that the contract is entered into by the Board of Works. Councilor Rokicki stated that the city will need to address the issue yard waste disposal. With no further business Councilor Calbert moved for adjournment. This motion was seconded by Councilor Murray, was carried by an aye unanimous vote, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m. ichael M.
