Advisory Task Force on Economic Development
Meeting Minutes
January 10, 2018
Village Hall, 24401 W. Lockport Street
Attendees: Steve Preze, Greg Schaefer, Troy Strange, Trustee O’Rourke, and no members
from the public.
Staff: Jake Melrose, Jon Proulx
The meeting was called to order at 7:37AM by Chairman Greg Schaefer.
Michael Konrad, Annette Kenney, Harold Oliver and Ed O’Rourke was absent.
Public Comments: None.
Business Meeting
Due to a lack of a quorum, the November 8, 2017 task force minutes were not approved.
Mr. Schaefer asked staff to present the agenda item Task Force Meeting Presentation for
discussion only.
Mr. Melrose provided the staff report providing a rough draft of a presentation for a joint meeting
with the Village Board at a future committee of a whole meeting.
Mr. Schaefer suggested adding all the different companies or a larger list of companies the task
force has interview throughout the years.
Mr. Preze suggested multiple amendments in the phrasing of the recruitment strategies.
The task force agreed the format and structure was suitable to move forward.
Staff would work on the amendments and provide an update to the task force.
Staff presented updates regarding the hotel feasibility study which was close to completion.
Expectations are to have a final document in one month and to present the findings to the Board
in March.
Staff also provided an update regarding development and business updates in the village.
Mr. Preze made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Mr. Strange. All in favor.
Meeting adjourned at 8:54a.m.
