Mayor Walter Parker called the meeting to order a few
minutes after 7 P.M. Also persent from Council were Jack Youmans,
Jean Davis, Chris Solomon and Bill Walsh. Patricia Pagan the
City Treasurer was present also.
Mr. Barron Goodman of Dixon, Sheehan and Titus Insurance
Company presented a hospital insurance proposal to the Council.
The proposal was from Great -West Assurance Company. Mr. Goodman
answered all questions from the Mayor and Council and from
Chief McCutchen.
Mr. Goodman said he would recommend Funding at 100% to the
City. Also discussed was going to a higher deductible to save
the employees from a high premium increase. Chris: Solomon said
he would like to see the city offer to pay for all of the employees
hospital insurance and let family coverage be optional to the
employee to purchase themselves.
Mr. Goodman said that with a $250.00 deductible there would
be a 5% savings; with a $500.00 it would be a 12% saving.
Chief McCutchen said that we should go to a higher deductible.
There was discussion at length, no decision was made. It was
so noted by Mrs. Pagan that we are in a 30 day grace period since
June lst, 1989. This will come before the full council Thursday
night at their regular meeting
