THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2007
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M.,
Thursday, September 27, 2007, in the Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th
Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson, and Dian
Lawson. Also attending were City Attorney Walt Chidester, Director of Public Safety and
Engineering Greg Stiens and David Jones
The following business was conducted:
CALL TO ORDER
Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that two board members and
legal counsel were present
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the September 20, 2007
meeting. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was
unanimously passed.
CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT
Robinson told the board that there would be no claim docket this week to be approved.
BID AWARDS
A. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Director of Public
Works and Engineering Greg Stiens to award the bid for the Paved Side Ditch Project
at 4251 Industries Road to Rose City Construction not to exceed $17,170.00. Lawson
made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously
passed.
CONTRACTS
A. Robinson made a request to the board to approve Contract No. 91 -2007 with the City
and Rose City Construction LLC for the Paved Side Ditch Project at 4251 Industries
Road. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion
was unanimously passed.

ADDENDUMS
A. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by City Attorney Walt
Chidester for the approval of Addendum No. 1 to Contract No. 77 -2007 with Susan
Silberstein for legal services. He explained that this addendum was to extend the
contract for an additional week with her being paid a sum not to exceed $840.00.
Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was
unanimously passed.
REQUEST
A. Robinson added to the agenda a request that was presented by Operations
Superintendent — Richmond /Winchester of Indiana American Water Company, David
Jones for the approval of a road closure for Water Company Maintenance and
Upgrade work on Sim - Hodgin Parkway between Bridge Avenue and Hub Etchison
Parkway on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 8:00 AM through Wednesday October 3,
2007. He said that it would take from 36 to 48 hours. Lawson made a motion to
approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously. The
meeting was adjourned.
