ORDINANCE NO. 03 -883
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING THE 2002 LOS ANGELES COUNTY
BUILDING CODE (TITLE 26), ELECTRICAL (TITLE 27),
PLUMBING CODE (TITLE 28) AND MECHANICAL CODE (29)
BY REFERENCE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0076, which adopts the 2002 Building
Code amending various sections of Title 26, is hereby adopted by reference; Section 7100 of the Temple
City Municipal Code is amended accordingly.
7100. ADOPTION OF CODE.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain Building Code known and designated as the Los
Angeles County Building Code as published in the 2002 edition of the Los Angeles County
Building Laws, and such code shall be and shall become the Building Code of the City of
Temple City, regulating the erection, construction, enlargement, alternation, repair, moving,
removal, demolition, conversion, occupancy, use, height, area maintenance of all structures
and certain equipment therein specifically regulated and grading within the City of Temple
City, and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefore; and each
of all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such code, which are on file in the
office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted and made part hereof as if fully set out
in this ordinance; however, adoption of Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0076 shall
exclude all fee changes.
SECTION 2. Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0077, which adopts the 2002 Electrical Code
amending various sections of Title 27, is hereby adopted by reference; Section 7300 of the Temple City
Municipal Code is amended accordingly.
7300. ADOPTION OF CODE.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain Electrical Code known and designated as the
Uniform Electrical Code as contained in the 2002 edition of the Los Angeles County Electrical
Code, and such code shall be and shall become the Electrical Code of the City of Temple
City, regulating the installation, arrangement, alteration, repair, use and operation of electric
wiring, connections, fixtures and other electrical appliances on premises within the City of
Temple City and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefore.
Adoption of Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0077 shall exclude all fee changes.
SECTION 3. Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0078, which adopts the 2002 Plumbing Code
amending various sections of Title 28, is hereby adopted by reference; Section 7400 of the Temple City
Municipal Code is amended accordingly.
7400. ADOPTION OF CODE.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain Plumbing Code known and designated as the
Uniform Plumbing Code as contained in the 2002 edition of the Los Angeles County
Plumbing Code, and such code shall be and shall become the Plumbing Code of the City of
Temple City, regulating plumbing and drainage system, house sewers, private sewage
disposal systems and prescribing conditions under which such work may be carried on within
the City of Temple City and providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of fees

therefore. Adoption of Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0078 shall exclude all fee
changes.
SECTION 4. Los Angeles County Ordinance 2002 -0079, which adopts the 2002 Mechanical
Code amending various sections of Title 29, is hereby adopted by reference; Section 7200 of the Temple
City Municipal Code is amended accordingly.
7200. ADOPTION OF CODE.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain Mechanical Code known and designated as the
Los Angeles County Mechanical Code as contained in the 2002 edition of the Los Angeles
County Mechanical Code, including the appendix to said Los Angeles County Mechanical
Code and such code, except as herein provided, shall be and shall become the Mechanical
Code of the City of Temple City providing for the issuance of permits and the collection of
fees therefore and providing penalties for violation of such code. Adoption of Los Angeles
County Ordinance 2002 -0079 shall exclude all fee changes.
SECTION 5. Copies of the herein referenced codes are on file with the City Clerk of the City of
Temple City; said documents are available for examination during normal business hours.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to its
approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published according to law.

883, was introduced at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Temple City held on the 4th
day of February, 2003 and was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council, approved and
signed by the Mayor and attested to by the City Clerk at the regular meeting held on the 18th of February,
2003 by the following vote:
