Special Session
December 3, 1994
The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Saturday, December 3, 1994 at the
Walden Inn. The meeting was called to order by Council President Sue Murray. On call of the roll the
following members were shown to be present: Councilor Tom Roach, Councilor Jerry Calbert, Councilor
Sue Murray, Councilor Mike Rokicki. Councilor Charles Miles was absent. Also present were City Engineer
Chris Barnes and City Attorney John Zeiner.
Mr. Barnes presented an overview of the plans for the new water plant as designed by Bonar &
Associates. A video of the Portland, Indiana plant was presented and discussed. Further discussion items
included the inability to expand the existing water plant, the need for additional capacity, the deterioration
of the existing water transmission line, and iron removal methods.
No action was taken, as Council requested cost information on portion of the project as currently
designed. Such cost and rate projections are to be discussed at the next special session in December.
