Mayor Walter Parker call the Budget Hearings to order at
7:33 P.M. Council members present were Jean Davis, Bill Walsh, Jack
Youmans and Chris Solomon. Paul Jackson was absent. The newly elected
officials were also present.
Councilman Jack Youmans read the Fire Department and First
Responder budgets. It was stated that the fire enforcement part of
the line item budget is to be moved into General Government as City
Marshall Jerry Farmer is the Fire Inspector. Rowena said that the
equipment for enforcement in the amount of $4,200.00 was for a computer
that will not be purchased. Jim Kluttz questioned the need for clerical
help to help bring the I S 0 rating down. Jack Youmans said that we
now have record keeper and that the records are being brought up to
date, we need to research and refile some of the records.
In the absence of Councilman John O'Neill, Jack Youmans
read the Department of Public Works budget. Beautification requested
$4,500.00 be placed in a separate line item for historic survey - $3,000.00
and $1,500.00 for Butler Avenue planting. Ann Monahan said that the
committee had been promised $3,000.00 for the diarama. Jean Davis said
that at the council meeting that it was stated that the Beautification
Committee had spent almost all of their grant money provided by the
city in the budget and the council did not promise to pay any amount.
Chris Solomon presented the Recreation Budget. He stated that
this was a fair budget.
Chief McCutchen read the Parking budget. Mike Milford
questioned having a booth on the hi -way for collecting a parking fee.
Mayor Parker said that this has been looked into by not only this
administration but also by Mayor Hosti.
Fire Dept. - $143,793.20
First Responder - 12,500.40
Lifeguard - 34,999.98
Recreation - 79,963.00
Parking - 110,985.20
Mayor Parker closed the hearings.

St. Michael's Catholic Church earlier this evening.
