Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. l}'hoads, Recorder; Herbert Howard, Harry F. Newton, W. Emory Plaster, Louis C. Rollins, Roger D. Shroy and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. • • The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. - I . The following bills were read, approved and ordered paid:- Virginia Public Service Co., (Harrison Pumping) $ 14.82 ^ " " (General Pumping) 178.68 (Street Lights) 129.62 ^ " " (Mayor's Office & Fire House) 14.56 " (White Way) . . 95.35 J. Adrian, Jailor, (Town Prisoners), 1248.00 Whitmore & Armfield, - - 79.50 Moore, Clemens & Co.,- 79.50 $992.27 Councilman Newton, of the Fire Committee, reported that the Fire Com- mittee,had decided to renew the old firemen's insurance policy, held with Whit- • more & Armfield, and after some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Plaster,. dduly seconded and carried, that the premium of $207.50 for same be ordered paid. Councilman Rollins reported that the Town Hall property needed a new roof. The matter was discussed at some length, and Councilman Turley offered a motion, which was duly seconded and carried, that the Myers Bros., of Water- ford, Va., examine the old roof, with the co-operation of the Town Hall Commit- tee, and report back to the Council. • On motion of Councilman Plaster, duly seconded and carried, it was or- •dered that one of the Water Bonds, in the amount of $1,000.00, be paid off, with ') interest to date. Councilman Plaster reported that copies of the revised Charter were be- ing printed for the consideration of the Council. • It was moved by Councilman Turley, duly seconded and carried, that Royal Street Extended be repaired, under the direction of the Town Sergeant. On motion of Councilman Plaster, duly seconded and carried, the Council went'of record, favoring a representation appearing before the Board of Supervis- ors, at it's meeting on January 27, 1936, to solicit the assistance of the Board • in securing funds to help with the maintenance of the Fire Department. It was brought out that a vast majority of fires occurred in the county, and was felt that some assistance should be given in the maintdnance of the Department. There being no further business, on motion the Council adjourned. • MAYOR. • Recorder.
