Gentlemen: ' With reference to the question of permitting additional connections to the private water line, owned and constructed by the undersigned, we hereby advise that we have investigated the matter and beg to report that on expert opinion, the line is at present overloaded, Therefore, we deem it to the best interests of all._ parties concerned, that no permits for additional connections be granted. We believe our own water supply would be jeopardized thereby. However, if the Town sees fit to grant water privileges to others, we believe and hereby recommend to the Council that a water main of sufficient size. to furnish ample supply to all who may connect thereto, be constructed at the expense of the Town. • Yours very truly, • (Signed) G. There bbing no further business, •on motion the Council adjourned. i MAYOR. / v/A REORDER. • • At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chambef, in Leesburg, Virginia, on Monday, September 14, 1936, at 8:00 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor, Ros- coe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Herbert Howard, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, councilmen. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The following bills were read, approved and ordered paid:= II Virginia Public Service Co., (Mayor's Office & Fire House) - - $ 4.50 " ^ (General Pumping ) 211.85 r. " (Harrison Pumping) 12.00 (Street Lighting) 129.62 (White way Lighting) 95.35 Whitmore & Armfield, 30.00 M. D. Atwell, - - - - 42.50 General Electric Co., 42.75 Joseph H. Turley, 25.05 Harry F. Newton, 28.90 J. T. Hirst, _ 9.45 $ 631.97 • Councilman Hollins offered the following motion which was duly seconded and carried:- Be it resolved, that Llangollen School be furnished with town water at the regular or meter rates; that the said school shall construct at its own ex- pense a water main leading to said school; that the water main leading east- ward frau the corporate limits to the said school shall be maintained and kept in repair by the said school; and that the town of Leesburg, in Vir- ginia, appropriate a sum not to exceed $100.00 towards the construction of a water main to the corporate limits on East Market street. Those voting in favor of the resolution were: Councilmen Flippo, Hutchi- son, Howard and Rollins. Those opposing the resolution were:- Councilmen Newton and Turley. Mrs. Robert Wildman appeared before Council and stated that she desired to purchase not to exceed four barrels of tat, with which to resurface the drive- way at her residence on East Market,Street, and upon motion of `.Cbuncilman Turley, duly seconded and carried, her request was granted. On motion of Councilman Turley, duly seconded and carried, (Councilman:ed Rollins not voting) it was ordered that the store room in Town Hall Building be rented to Mr. Tunis H. Plaster, at a rental of $25.00 per month, for a period of six months, with privilege of six months additional, and that all repairs are to be made at the expense of the renter. Mayor Bradfield reported having attended the 31st. Annual Convention of the Leagueoef Virginia Municipalities, which is being held at Winchester, Virginia, There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned. • t R/t MAYOR. „Lay-3_ i� RECORDER: At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Uouncil of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, in Leesburg, Virginia, on Monday, September 28, 1936, at 8:00 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Herbert Howard, Lawrence S. Hutch- ison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mayor Bradfield reported that Mr. Tunis H. Plaster expected to rent the storeroom in the Town Hall Building either October 1st., or November 1st., at the terms quoted. I Mir. Harrison Williams, in company with his Attorney - Mr. Lucas D. Phil- lipa - appeared before the Council, and solicited it to abate an alleged nuisance - a stable situated on the North side of East North..Streett Mr. Williams also pre- •', sented a petition signed by various citizens of the immediate vicinity. On motion of Councilman Rollins, duly seconded, and unanimously carried, it was ordered that the Mayor appoint a Board of Health for the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, under subsection R, of section 3, of the town charter. The Mayor appointed Drs. John A. Gibson, Chairman, Harry P. Gibson and G. H. Musgrave.
