At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, on Monday, December 28, 1936, at 7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, ±recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Herbert howard, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louie C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen: Town Auditor S. Reed Galleher was also in attendance. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Letters from the Auditor of Public Accounts, Richmond, Virginia, and T. Coleman Andrews,& Co., C. P. A., Richmond, Virginia, and a telegram from A. M. Pullen & Company, Richmond, Virginia, relative to an audit of the books of the town for the years 1933-4-5-6, and the installation of a modern bookkeeping system were read to the Council. Mr. L. D. Andrews, of the firm of T. Coleman Andrews & Co., appeared before the council and stated that from information he had re- ceived,' little would be gained from an audit, until after a competent bookkeeper had been employed and all records of the town kept. On motion of Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman Newton and unanimously carried, it was ordered that a committee be appointed to ascertain the cost of procuring a bookkeeper, the du- ties to be expected of him, etc., and report back at the next meeting of the Coun- cil. The Mayor appointed Councilmen Howard and Rollins. The following bill was readiiapproved and ordered paid:- • Virginia Public Service Co., § 1.13 Fire Chief Atwell brought to the attention of the Uouncil that there was some discarded fire hose that could be sold, and upon motion of Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Flippo, and unanimously carried, the matter of disposing of discarded fire hose and couplings be left in the hands of the Fire Committee.
