On motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and
unanimously carried, Mrs. A. F. Rogers was granted permission to use the Mayor's
Office, in- the Town Hall Building, for the issuance of the Virginia State Auto-
bile Tags for 1937, with the understanding that the Mayor and Town Council would
assume no responsibility, whatever, for any losses that might be incurred.
It was brought to the attention of the Council that the Corporation
Taxes of Mr. Edwin C. Myers, in amount of $23.47, had not been paid, and upon
motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Rollins, and carried, it was
ordered that the aforesaid amount be deducted from the next check due Mr. Myers
from the Towyn. Those voting in Or of the motion were Councilman Howard, Hutch-
ison, Newton, Rollins and Turley. Councilman Flippo did not vote.
There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned.

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees-
burg, in.Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, on Monday, February 22, 1937, at
7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Record-
er; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins

. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
. On motion of Councilman Newton, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and
unanimously carried, the Recorder was instructed to advertise in the Loudoun
Times-Mirror and The Loudoun Mews for bids for hauling slops and garbage, as
follows:-
CALL FOR BIDS
The Leesburg Town Council invites sealed bids for the hauling
of slops and garbage. Bids must be submitted to the Council on or
before 7:30 P. M., March 22, 1937.

Contracts will be made for a period of one year dating from
April 1, 1937. Bidders are requested to submit sepapate bids, as
follows:-
1. To haul slops.
2. To haul garbage.
3. To haul slops and garbage.
Slops and garbage must be hauled to a point outside of the
,' corporate limits of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, at a place
to be provided by the bidder, which location must be stated in
his sealed bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond for
the faithful performance of his contract and said contract must
be delivered to a member of- the Town Council before entering upon
his duties.
The Town Council reserves the right to reject any and all
bids.

The bill of Mr. Herman Mthttley, amounting to $42.00, for services
as special policeman, was read, approved and ordered paid.

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, on Monday, March 8, 1937, at
7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Record-

A delegation of the Leesburg Fire Co., with Chief Louis F. Atwell, as
spokesman, appeared before the Council and advised that the company was desirous
of replacing the #1 pumper with a new and more modern piece of fire fighting
equipment, and solicited the aid of the Council in procuring the same. After
quite some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Howard, seconded by Councilman
Rollins, and unanimously carried, that the matter be laid on the table until the
nest meeting of the Council, and that in the meantime, each member of the Coun-
cil should give the matter consideration.
On motion of Councilman Newton, seconded by Councilman Turley, and un-
animously carried, the Mayor appointed the entire Council a committee to investi-
gate the opening between the property of Mr. Newton and the warehouse of Mr. D.
F. Hagins, on E. Loudoun Street, through to South Street,. and report back to the
Council the advisability of providing a street thereon, provided the proper right
of way could be obtained.
There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned.
