At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday, March 24, 1937, at 7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; itoscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. . The meeting was called by order of Motion of Councilman Howard, at the regular meeting of March 22, 1937, to give further consideration to the awarding of the contract for the hauling of garbage. Mr. G. F. Kitts appeared before Council, and, after some questioning, as to Mr. Kitts' ability to fulfill his contract, should it be awarded to him, it was moved by Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Newton, and unanimous- ly carried, that the contract for hauling garbage be awarded to G. F. Kitts, at $750.00 per year, provided bond can be procured, acceptable to the Town Attor- ney. Also on motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and unanimously carried, it was ordered that the Mayor and Town Attorney pre- pare and receive the, contract and bond of Mr. G. F. Kitts, for the hauling of garbage. There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned. MAYOR. • - deRECORDER— At a special meeting of the Mayor and 'roam Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Thursday, April 1, 1937, at 7:30 P. M.; there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Record- er; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Joseph H. Turley and Louis C. Rollins, Councilmen. Mayor Bradfield explained to the Council that he had called the spe- cial meeting to give further consideration to the contract for the hauling of garbage, awarded at the special meeting of March 24, 1937, to Mr. G. F. Kitts. Mr. Kitts was again called before Council and explained that he had • been unable, to date, to procure bond through a bonding company, but had Mr. G. W. Hume to act as bondsman for him. After some discueesion by the Coun- 55 cil, it was moved by Councilman Hutchison, seconded by Councilman Newton, and unan- mously carried, that the Council accept the bid of Mr. G. F. Kitts, at $750.00 per year, to haul the garbage from the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, from April 1, 1937 to March 31, 1938, with Mr. G. W. Hume assbondsman; the Town Atborney to pre- pare ,the contract and bond, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the name of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, to the contract. There bring no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned. ' MAYOR. HECOP.DERC- At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, April 12, 1937, at 7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Re- corder; and Hoy M. ='lippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry f. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the Last regular meeting of the Council and the special meetings of March 24, 1937 and April 1, 1937, were read and approved. Messrs. W. C. Sarver, Williamsport, Maryland, and Gordon F. Warner, Leesburg, Virginia, appeared before Council with respect to Mr. Warner sub-let- ting a portion of the room occupied by Mr. Warner, in the Town Hall Building, to Mr. Sarver for use as a shooting gallery. After quite some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Flippo, and unanimously ' carried, that Mr. Warner be not permitted to sublet his room in the Town Hall Building for any other purposes. On motion of Councilman Newton, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and unanimously carried, the Town Sergeant was ordered to repair a holt in the street at the residence of Mr. Hobert Cockrille. 0$ motion of Councilman Flippo, seconded by Councilman Newton, the Leesburg Baseball Team was granted permission to use town hall for a dance on the night of April 21, 1937, with the understanding that there was to be no expense to the town, and also that permission would be obtained from Mr. Benj. F. Pitts, lessee of the hall.
