Kitts, at $750.00 per year, to haul the garbage from the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, from April 1, 1937 to March 31, 1938, with Mr. G. W. Hume assbondsman; the Town Attorney to pre- pare ,the contract and bond, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the name of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, to the contract. RECORDEB•� At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, April 12, 1937, at 7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Re- corder; and :coy M. i'iippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the last regular meeting of the Council and the special • meetings .of March 24, 1937 and April 1, 1937, were read and approved. Messrs. W. C. Sarver, Williamsport, Maryland, and Gordon F. Warner, Leesburg, Virginia, appeared before Council with respect to Mr. Warner sub-let- ting a portion of the room occupied by Mr. Warner, in the Town Hall Building, to Mr. Sarver for use as a shooting gallery. After quite some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Flippo, and unanimously - carried, that Mr. Warner be not permitted to sublet his room in the Town Hall Building for any other purposes. On motion of Councilman Newton, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and unanimously carried, the Town Sergeant was ordered to repair a holt in the street at the residence of Mr. Robert Cockrille. 0B motion of Councilman Flippo, seconded by Councilman Newton, the Leesburg Baseball Team was granted permission to use town hall for a dance on the night of April 21, 1937, with the understanding that there was to be no expense to the town, and also that permission would be obtained from Mr. Benj. F. Pitts, lessee of the hall. At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Lees- burg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, April 19, 1937, at 8:00 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Jos- eph H. Turley, Councilmen. Town Auditor S. Reed Galleher appeared before Council and presented _ the tentative budget for the town for the year ending February 28, 1938. After the budget was presented and thoroughly discussed by the Coun- cil, it was moved by Councilman Hutchison, seconded by Councilman Newton, and unanimously carried, that the tentative budget be passed, and finally adopted, at the meeting on May 24, 1937, and it was ordered that the same be published in the Loudoun Times-Mirror on April 22, 1937, and in the Loudoun News on May 13, 1937. On motion of Councilman Hutchison, seconded by Councilman Flippo, and unanimously carried, Mr. J. D. Taylor was granted permission to purchase town water, at the usual rate, for his residence, west of Leesburg, provided that satisfactory arrangements could be made with Mr. Frank E. Ellmore, the original owner of the water line. There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned. arifitAiree MAYOR. ` "/„. /„.� ✓ RECORDER. At a regular meeting of theMayor and Town Council of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, April 26, 1937, at 7:30 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, °±ayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Harry F. Newton, Louis C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. • The minutes of the last regular meeting and the- special meetings of April 19, 1937 were read and approved. On motion of Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Flippo, and unanimously carried, the contract of Mr. T. S. Alexander for the hauling of slops for the year ending March 31, 1938, was approved, and the following order issued: "It is ordered that E. N. Bradfield, Mayor, be, and he is hereby directed to sign the name of the town of Leesburg; in . - - - Virginia, to the contract for hauling slops from said- town, that was awarded to T. S. Alexander." The contract of Mr. Alexander, after being duly signed by the Mayor was hand- ed to the Recorder for his files.
