M., in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall of said town, bids will be received for the rental of the Auditorium of said Town Hall. BE IT ALSO ORDAINED that all bids for the rental of said audi- torium. shall be in writing and shall be for a period of one or two years.) II[ BE IT FURTHER ORDAIIED that all bids shall be addressed to the Mayor and Town Council and shall be delivered to the Mayor of said town. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that each bid shall state the purpose for which the bidder intends to use the said auditorium. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Council of said town reserves the right and privilege of rejecting any or all bids that may be submitted pursuant to the provisions of this ordinance. • BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that a copy of this ordinance be pub- lished in the Loudoun News once a week for four successive weeks. There being no further business, on motion, the Council adjourned. V YOR. RECORDER. At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday, August 17, 1937, at 8:00 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry F. Newton, Lucas D. Phillips, Louis G. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. The Recorder read the following resolutions to the Council: • BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the town of Leesburg, in Vir- ginia, irginia, that the said Town will pay the Auditing Department of the Commonwealth of Virginia for installing a set of books for said • Town and for doing such work and making such investigations through, and by, a qualified representative of said Auditing De • - partment as may be necessary to determine the kind of books needed by said Town. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the desire of said Coun- . cil to have said set of books set up as of.September 1, 1937, and that such work and investigations as may be necessary to determine the kind of books needed may be done and made by the said Auditing Department as soon-as it. is convenient to do same. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the selection of books for the Town Shall be approved by the Mayor and Auditor-Treasurer of said Town. • On motion of Councilman Phillips, seconded by Councilman Hutch- r- 1 _L ison, and unanimously carried, the foregoing resolutions were adopted as read. At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council umber on Monday, August 23, 1937, at 8:00 P. M., there were present E. N. Bradfield, Mayor; Roscoe B. Rhoads, Recorder; and Roy M. Flippo, Lawrence S. Hutchison, Harry r. Newton, Lucas D. Phillips, Louis G. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the last regular meeting and the special meeting of August 17, 1937, were read and approved. The following bills were read, approved and ordered paid: M. D. Atwell, $'56.00 Earl L. Poston, 17.60 Joseph H. Turley, 5.55 Leesburg Lime & Fuel Corporation, - - - 36.06 H. & H. Chevrolet Sales, 10.00 Harry F. Newton, 5.65 Virginia Department of Highways,- - - - 77.28 F. M. Fling, 12.00 $220;14 On motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Hutchison, and unanimously carried, it vas ordered that Master Louis Hough be paid the sum of $15.00 for attending to the town pumps during the illness of his father Mr. Ray- mond Hough. The following ordinance was then read to Council, and upon motion of Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Turley, and unanimously carried; the same was adopteds 5 -BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that, commencing September 1, 1937, the Auditor-Treas- urer of said town shall make and submit to the Council a quar- terly statement of all money collected or received by the said town and a detailed analysis of all accounts authorized to be paid by said Counbil. �--- Councilman Phillips introduced to the Council Mr. Jameg Morris, of the State Auditing Department, who gave a general report of the work to be done by that department in connection with the installation of the modern bookkeeping system for the town.
