September 1 , 1938 at a monthly salary of ;100.00 per month : ill There being no further business , on motion duly made , seconded and carried , the council adjourned. • art /1 MA IR /6444-1cam/ — RECORDER • Apri1 ,20 , 1936 At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday, April 20 , 1938 at 7 :30 P. I,i. , for the purpose of giving the public an ppportunity to make objection to to suggestions regarding the proposed tax and license Ordinance , there were present ; Lucas D. Phillips , Mayor ; Louis T. Titus , Recorder ; Roy M. Flippo , II John T. Hourihane , L. S. Hutchison , L. C . Rollins . J . D. Taylor and Joseph H. Turley , Councilmen. r The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Those present other than the Council and town officials were ; Mr . J . E. Adrain , I.Ir. J . W. Robey , Mr. George R. Hughes and - . '' Mr. Kivlighan and Mr. Millner of .the press . The Recorder read the proposed tax and license Ordinance • and same was discussed by the Souncil and the Mayor. On motion of Councilman Taylor seconded by Councilman Hutchison and unanimoua ;y carried the following Resolution was passed ; • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the -Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to have published by one insertion in a newspaper in the said town , the Tax and License Ordinance which was introduced and laid on the table at the Council meeting , Tuesday April , 5 , 1938 , and also a notice that there will be a meeting of the Council in the Council Chambef at the Town Hall Building on the 17th. day of May , 1937 at 7 :30 P.
