At a. regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council og the
To' n :of Leesburg , . in Virginia held . in the Council Chamber on Monday
November 28 , 1938 .at 7 :30 P. M. there were present ; Lucas ' D. Phillips ,
Mayor , --Louis T. Titus , Recorder ; James-E. Adrain , Roy MMI. Flippo ,
John T. Hourihane ; Louis C. Rollins , J. D. , Taylor and Joseph, H. .
Turley , Councilmen.

The • minutes of the last Regular meeting held on November
14th and a special meeting held on November 17th 1938 , were read
and upon motion duly made , seconded and carried; were adopted as
read. -
On motion , of Councilman Turley seconded by Councilman ,
Hourihane and unanimously carried , the following. Resolution was
passed ;
WHEREAS , Roscoe B. Rhoads , Auditor-Treasurer , reports
that there is the sum of $1 ,063:85 in the Sinking fund ; and
WHEREAS , there are 13 $1 ,000.00 water bonds out-standing
callable and payable at any_ time : .
NOW, THEEEFOEE:, BE IT RESOLVED , by- the- Council of the
Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be
and he is hereby authorised , instructed and directed to call
and; pay one of the said $1 ,000.00 bonds , together with accrued
interest. thereon, on or before the 30th day of November , 1938.
On motion of Councilman Hourihane seconded by Councilman
Rollins and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town of Leesburg ,
in- Virginia that the, Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized , instructed and directed to pay the following bills ;
. Robert: Atwell - - - - $ 14:50 -
Chesapeake, &, Fotomae Telephone Company. 1.25
• - - Total - - - r 15. 75 -
- On motion of Councilman Rollins , seconded by Councilman
. Flippo and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town of Leesburg ,
in' Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized , instructed and directed to pay the members of the
. . Leesburg Fire Company the usual sum of $20.00 , annual salary ,
on' or before December 5T 1938 , - out of which he is to deduct
any taxes , water rents or other levys , due the town .of Leesburg.
There being no further business , on motion duly' made ,
seconded and carried , the Council adjourned .
