Home My Public Portal About1939_05_22 218 On motion of Councilman Turley seconded by Councilman Flippo and unanimously carried the Auditor--Treasurer was instructed to investigate the possibility of obtaining a sprinkler for the purpose of sprinkling the streets of-the town. • On motion of Louncilman Rollins , seconded by Councilman Flippo and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted ; BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to purchase ,and have •installed ,an awning for the town office , the cost of. which shall not exceed $14 .00. Mine Safety Appliance Company - - - - $141 .56 (Gas Malsks & First Aid Kits ) On motion of Councilman Flippo seconded by Councilman Oliver and unanimously carried , an Ordinance was passed declaring it unlawful for a prisoner to flee from custody of an officer under penalty of fine and imprisonment. On motion of Councilman Turley seconded by Councilman Flippo and unanimously carried , an Ordinance was passed entitled , "ARDENT SPIRITS" . This Ordinance may be found in the General Ordinance Book.
