APPROVED: � �/�, /� RECORDER December 11 , 1939 • • At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg , - in Virginia held in the Council Chamber on Mobday, December 11 , 1939 at 7 :30 P. I.I. , there were present , Lucas D. Phillips , Mayor ; Louis T. Titus , Recorder and J. L. Oliver, L.C.Rollins , J.D. Taylor and - J . H. Turley , Councilmen; T • he minutes of the last regular meeting held on November , 13th 1939 and the minutes of a special meeting held on December 4th 1939 were :read and upon motion duly made •seconded and •carried , were qpproved as read. • • On motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman Rollins and unanimously carried the following Resolution was 'adopted ; BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of'Leesburg , in Virginia that ,'tRodsoe B. Rhoads , •Auditor-Treasurer , be. and he is hereby authorized to have erected one street light near the corporate limits on East Market Street for which the town will pay the Virginia Public Service Company the usual rate. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of November. On motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman Rollins and unanimously carried the folbxing Resolution was ' adepted ; BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to pay the following Bills ; Virginia Public Service Company Mayor' s Office & Fire Rouse - - - - $ 8.60 General Pumping 87 .22 Harrison Pumping 13. 56 Street Lighting - - 118.36 White Way Lighting- - - - 89.50 Disposal Plant 10.08 Merchandise (Fuses) • .15. 327.47 ST C & P. On motion of Councilman Rollins , seconded by Councilman Turley and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted ; BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia , that the Building Committee be and it is hereby authorized , instructed and directed to have the contractor , T. E. Fisher who is building a garage for the town on the pumping station lot , install tounged and grooved roofers in place of ,the rough. roofers specified in the specifications of the building. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council •of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia that the, Auditor-Treasurer be and he is thereby authorized , instructed and directed to pay the difference in the price of the tounged and grooved roofers and the rough roofers for use .on the garage building now under construction on the pumping station lot. On motion of Councilman Rollins , seconded by Councilman Turley and unanimously carried the following Resolution Was adopted ; WHEREAS, Roscoe B. Rhoads , Auditor-Treasurer ,. reports that thera is the sum of $1 , 731.46in the sinking Fund ; and WHEREAS, there are $10 ,000.00 water bonds out-standing callable and payable at any time : PLOW, THEREFORE,' BE IT RESOLVED , by the, Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized , instructed and directed to call and pay one of the said $1,000.00 bonds , together with accrued interest therepn on or before the 15th day of December ,1939. • On motion of Councilman Turley , seconded by Councilman Taylor and unanimously carried , the following Resolution was adopted ; BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia that the Street 9ommittee for streets South of Market • Streets be and it is hereby authorized , instructed and directed to have the damage to the property of Charles F. Harrison near the Corner of. Market and Church Streets , caused- by the sewer construction repaired. -There being no further business , on botion duly made , seconded and carried the Council adjourned at 8 :57 F. M. APPROVED : /J/� RECORDER rota MAYOR December 26 , 1939 SPECIAL At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the town of Leesburg , in Virginia held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday December 26 , 1939 at 7 : F. M. , there were present ; L. D. Phillips , Mayor ; Louis T. Titus , Ebeorder , and R. M. Flippq , J. T . Hourihane , J. L. - Oliver and L. C. Rollins , Councilmen. The Mayor stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider and adopt a resolution authorizing the renewal of the $12 , 500.00 note due at the Peoples National Bank of Leesburg on December 27th 1939 .
