AUTHORIZING AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX /
STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS TO WASHINGTON AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") is in the process of
planning for and constructing streetscape improvements along Washington
Avenue with funding from its Urban Enterprise Zone Program; and
WHEREAS, the County of Middlesex (the "County") is willing to perform
certain improvements to the public right of way as part of the project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough and the County are desirous of entering into a formal
agreement with regard to certain public improvements to be constructed as part of
the Washington Avenue Streetscape Project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. That the agreement between the Borough and the County
with regard to certain public improvements to be constructed as
part of their Washington Avenue Streetscape Project is hereby
approved.
2. That the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to execute said agreement in the requested number of
counterparts and in a form acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution along with the
executed copies of the cost-sharing agreement be . ~
forwarded to John J. Reiser, Jr., P.E. & L.S., County
Engineer, County of Middlesex.
Adopted this 9th day of July, 2003
and certified as a true copy of the
original on July 10, 2003.
