On motion of Councilman Hourihane , seconded by CSuncilman
Turley and unanimously carried. the Audi tor-Treasurer was authorized
- to 'sell a sill stone to J . W. Ferry at the best pt•iee possible .
On motion duly made , seconded and cariied the Auditor-
- Treasurer was authorized to call for bids on furnishing and installing
dounspout on the town hall builning .

•• On motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman
Turley and unanimously carried , the Council passed an Ordinancce
concerning dogs being allowed to run at large etc. a copy of which
will be found in the current Ordinance Book.
There being no further business , on motior duly made ,
seconded and carried , the council adjourned at 8 :23 F. M.

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the •
Town of Leesburg , in Virginia held in the Council Chamber on , Monday ,
February 2 , 1940 at 7 :30 P. M. there were present ; Lucas D. Phillips ,
Mayor ; Louis T. Titus , Recorder and F..M.Flippo , J . T . Hourihane , J. L.
Oliver , L. C . Rollins , 3 . D. Taylor :and J . H. Turley, Councilmen .
The minutes of the last regular meeting held on January 13 ,
1940 .were read and upon motion duly made , seconded and carried , were
approved as read.
The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly Statement for the 11month of January 1940.
The Auditor-Treasurer presented the current bills and upon
motion of Councilman -Oliver , seconded by Councilman Turley and
unanimously carried the follo,vi.ne :resolution was adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Toon? of Leesburg in
Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to
pay the following .bills ;

' The Auditor-Treasurer read the . proposed budget for the
fiscal year beginning July 1 , 1941 and ending June 30 , 1942 , as
prepared by the finance committee and upon motion of Councilman
Oliver , seconded by Councilman Taylor and unanimously carried the
following Eesolutibn was adopted :

W} EAS, •Roscoe B. Rhoads , Auditor-Treasurer , has this
day presented' to the Council a budget showing annual receipts
and disbursements for the year 1940 and um estimated receipts and
disbursements - for the year beginning July 1 , 1941 , 'and ending
June 30 , 1942 :
NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town
of Leesburg , in Virginia , that Roscoe B. Rhoads , Auditor-Treasurer ,
be and he is hereby instructed , authorized and directed to have
• • the aforesaid budget published by one insertion in a newspaper
published in said town.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , by the said Council , that there
will be a 8pauflt Meeting of the said Council in the Council
• Chamber of the Town Hall Building , in the Town of Leesburg ,
Virginia , at 7 :30 P. M. on the 17:thid4y of March 1941 for the
purpose of giving any citizen Of the Town the right toappear
• before the Council and state his views on the aforesaid proposed
budget.
There being no further business , on motion •duly made ,
seconded and carried , the -Council adjourned at 8 :03 P. M.
