Ata regular meeting of the Mayor, add town Council of the
Town of Leesburg , in Virginia held in the Council Chamber- on
Monday May 12, 1941 at 8 P. M. , there were present ; Lucas D.
Phillips , Mayor; Louis T. Titus , Recorder and R. M. Flippo,
J .T. Hourihane , J. L. Oliverm L. C.Rollins , J.D. Taylor and
J. H. Turley , Councilmen .

The minutes of the last regular meeting held- on April
14 , 1941 were read and- upon motion duly made, seconded- and
carried , were approved as read . .

The Auditor-Treasurer read his montfly statement for the month
of April 1941. .
The Auditor-Treasurer presented the current bills and upob
motion 'of Councilman Tiourihane , seconded by Councilman Oliver
the following Eesolution was- adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Toy,* of Leesburg,
in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to pay -the following bills ;

Upon motion of Councilman Glover seconded -by Councilman -
Flippo and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted ; .
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the loam of�tLeesburg ,
in Virginia that the Auditor=Treasurer be and he is ;hereby
authorized and instructed to pay to O. K. Wilson the sum of
$48.40 for repair wrtk on the town water Tank.
On motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman. --
Flippo and unanimously carried the following Resolution was
adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized and instructed to charge off the following Licenses
from the books of the Treasurer ;

On motion of Councilman Turley , seconded by Councilman
Taylor and unanimously carried there was an Ordinance passed
setting uvanLabor Committee , said Committee to be composed
of the Mayor , the Auditor-Treasurer and one member of the
Council , who shall be appointed by the Council. A copy of
this Ordinance shall be found in the current Ordinance book.
Nomina▪tions were placed in order for the member of the
Labor Comnittee from the Council. . •
Councilman Oliver was nominated for the Councilman
member of the Labor Committee , said nomination being duly

seconded . There being no further nominations , nominations
were closed. Councilman Oliver was _unanimously elected to
the said committee. ,
On motion of Councilman _Taylor_, _seconded by Councilman
• Hourihane and unanimously carried the following Eesolttion was
adopted ; _ . . , _ _ . •
BE IT RE▪SOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia ,that the Labor Committee be and it is hereby
authorized, and directed to have removed all . shrubbery. and •
branches of trees projecting over streets and side-walks
in such a way as to_ obstruct the view at intersections -and
other places on streets and side-walks. -
On motion of Councilman Oli- ver, seconded by Councilman
Flippo and unanimously carried-_the _following Resolution- was-
ad opj:ed; .
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Coun- cil of the Town of Leesburg ,
in Virgins that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is .hereby
authorized , and instructed to purchase NEW stop signs for
King Street_ at the intersection of MarketStreet.
On motion of Councilman Flippo , seconded by Councilman
II Taylor and unanimously .carried , the following Resolution was
adopted ;
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia that the Labor Committee be and it is hereby
authorized and instructed to get bids and have concrete
laid from the side-walk to the new town toilets.
The following students from the. Leesburg Grade School
were present to gather information in regard to the operation
of the Town Government ; Billy Thomas,, David McDonald and
Thomas diZerega.
