J., Hatcher _ .- - - 73.20 Total - - - $ 582.12 On motion .of Councilman Flippo , seconded by Councilman Hourihane and unanimously carried ; the following Eesolution- ' was adopted; • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Tows of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the following employees of the town be and they are hereby granted two weeks vacation with regular pay , Roscoe B. Rhoads , Mowerd B: •Gill , Robert Atwell and Raymond Lr Hough. On motion of Councilman Hourihane , 'seconded by Councilman Flippo , and unanimoualy carried , the Mayor was authorized and instructed to appoint a committee of three Councilman to investigate the matter of purchasing a Police Car. The Mayor Stated that the appointment of• this committee . would be made later . THERE being no further business , on motion duly made , seconded and carried , the Council adjourned- at- 9-:37 P. II Septellber 5, 1941 SPECIAL . • At a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia helditn the Council Chamber on, Friday , September 5, 1941 at 7 :30 P. M. , there were present ; Lucas D. Phillips , Mayor and Louis T. Titus , Recorder and C.W. Fiske , R. M. Flipp , J.T. Eburihane , J. L. Oliver and L. C. Rollins Councilmen. ' The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and upon motion duly made , seconded and carried , -neere approved as read. 296 On motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman , Flippo and unanimously carried , the following Resolution was adopted , BE I4 RESOLVED, by the Council of the town of Leesburg , in Virginia , that the action of the Auditor-Treasurer in paying a $1 ,000.00 water bond by check dated' September 2 , 1941 , drawn against the general fund , be and the same is hereby approved . The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of August , 1941 , and also presented the current bills and upon motion duly made , seconded and carried the following Resolution was adopted ;. - . Mtsgrave for professional services rendered to town prisoners was authorized paid subject to adjustment by the Auditor-Treasurer of an overcharge. • The Mayor stated that Mr. Claude Honicon had made an informal offer to grant to the Town of Leesburg ; a right of way for a street , through his property from East Market street to the State Highway known as Route #7. ,,`��11 • .r On motion of Councilman Hourihane , seconded by Councilman Flippo;` the following committee was elected by the Council to - - - investigate Mr. Honicon' s offer and report to the council; Lucas D. Phillips, Stildeon H. Hall and J. L.011ver . c� On motion of Councilman Rollins, seconded by Councilman Oliver and carried( Councilman Fiske not voting) the following • committee was elected and authorised to investigate the matter_ of laying a larger water pipe line along Market Street extended. Lucas D. Phillips , Stilson H. Hall and J. A. Oliver. • On motion of Cou4cilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman Flippo and carried. the following Resolution was adopted ;' - BE IT RESOLVED , by the Council of the town of Leesburg in Virginia , that the regular meeting of- the Council of said • town scheduled to be- held on the second Monday of September ( September 8 , 1941 ) be dispensed with. • 297 There being no further business , on motion duly made , seconded and carried, the Council adjourned at 8 :30 P. . Phillips , Mayor , ; Louis T.Titus , Recorder and C. W. Fiske , R. M. Flippo , J. T. Hourihane , J. L. .Oliver, L. C.Rollins and J . H. Curley , Councilmen . The minutes of the last meeting-were read and upon motion duly . made , seconded and carried were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of September 1941. • The Auditor9Treasurer read his Quarterly Statement for the quarter ending September 30 , 1941 and upon motion of Councilman Oliver , seconded by Councilman Fiske and unanimously carried the following Resolution was adopted : WHEREAS. the Auditor-Treasurer has thes day presented to the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia, a quarterly • statement of allreceipts and an analysis of all disbursements IIfor the months of July , August and September 1941 ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia that the said quarterly report of the Auditor-Treasurer be and the same is hereby unanimously approved and accepted by the said CouOcil. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the said Council that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to have a copy of the said quarterly report published once in a newspaper published in said town and also post a copy of said quarterly report in front of the courthouse in the said town.
