AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE GRANT AVENUE PARK AND
PHILIP E. REIBIS MEMORIAL FIELD PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret desires to construct various improvements
to Grant Avenue Park and Philip E. Reibis Memorial Field to better serve the
residents of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Purchasing Agent has solicited and received two (2)
bid proposals for said work as follows:
1. A1 Sanguiliano, Inc. $166,983.05
2. Mike Fitzpatrick & Sons $194,202.00
WHEREAS, A1 Sanguiliano, Inc. submitted the lowest bid for said work for the
Grant Avenue Park and Philip E. Reibis Memorial Field Project as evidenced by
the response on file with the Borough Purchasing Agent; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, EKA
Associates, has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the
award ora contract to Al Sanguiliano, Inc.; and
WHFREAS, the chief financial officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby
authorized to enter into a contract with Al Sanguiliano, Inc. for the
Grant Avenue and Philip E. Reibis Memorial Field Improvements
Project for the sum of $166,983.05, in accordance in all respects
with the request for proposals and bid on same and in a form
acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
Adopted this 9th day of July, 2003
and certified as a true copy of the
original on July 10, 2003.
