BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that due notice be pub- lished once in a newspaper published in the Town of Leesburg, of said meeting . On motion of Councilman Oliver, seconded by Councilman Tur- ley, and unanimously carried, the Auditor-Treasurer was instruct- ed to purchase four (4) shirts for Sergeant Gill. The resignation of Recorder Louis T. Titus, caused by his having entered the service of his country , was read to the Coun- cil, and upon motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Oliver and unanimously carried, the resignation was accepted with extreme regrets . The Councilmen commented upon the accuracy and interest manifested by Mr . Titus while serving as Recorder. There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned at 9:00 P. M. Recorder Pro-Tem. Approved: low Mayor. • April 28, 1944 SPECIAL There was a special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Friday, April 28, 1944, for the purpose of giving any citizen, or taxpayer, an opportunity to express his views on the proposed budget, which was presented to the Council by the Finance Commit- tee on April 10, 1944, pursuant to a resolution adopted on that date . As no one presented themselves to express their views on the said. proposed budget, the Council adjourned at 8: 30 P. M. APPROVED: - Recorder Pro-Tem. Mayor. • May 8, 1944 REGULAR • At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday , May 8, 1944, at 8:00 P. M . , there were present, E. N. Bradfield, , Mayor, and C . W.Fiske , John T. Hourihane; James L. McIntosh, Joseph L. Oliver , L. C. Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen. Mayor Bradfield appointed Councilman McIntosh Recorder Pro-Tema The minutes of the last regular meeting and the special meet- ing of April 28, 1944, were read, and upon motion duly made, second- ed and carried, were approved as read. Mayor Bradfield appointed the following Post War Planning Board of citizens, stating that he felt the best interests of the Town would be considered if he would appoint four of the members and have the Board name the fifth member, should they feel so disposed. The Board appointees are Mr. Harrison Williams , Chairman, Mr. T. Frank Osburn, Mr. Lloyd Slack and Mr. John William Clemens . The matter of rescinding the present Dog Ordinance and supple- 1 menting it with the Dog Ordinance recently passed by the Board of Supervisors was brought to the attention of Council by Mayor Brad- field, and upoh motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman Oliver, the same was defeated.
