June 12, 1944 REGULAR $
At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of
Leesburg, inrVirginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday , June
12, 1944, at 8:00 P . M. , there were present, E. N. Bradfield, Mayor,
and C . W. Fiske, John T. Hourihane, James L. McIntosh, Joseph L.
Oliver, L. C . Rollins and Joseph H. Turley, Councilmen.

minutes of the last regular meeting were read, and upon mo-
tion duly made , seconded and carried, were approved as read .
Mrs . G. H. Musgrave appeared before the Council and advised the
body of the hardships she was encountering in trying to keep her dog
confined to the premises and urged that some relief be granted.
Mayor Bradfield thanked Mrs. Musgrave and stated her request would
be given due consideration.
Mr. G. E. Warner, a committee of one from the Leesburg Fire Com-
pany, next appeared before Council and asked the use of the Parking
Lot for the Firemen' s Fun Festival , to be held July 1 - 8, 1944.
On motion of Councilman Rollins , seconded by Councilman Fiske and un-
animously carried, the request was granted.
The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month
of May , 1944, and presented the current bills , and upon motion duly
made , seconded and carried, the following Resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be , and he
is hereby authorized and directed- to pay the following
bills:

On motion of Councilman Fiske, seconded by Councilman Oliver,
and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
,burg., in Virginia , that the State Auditing Department be ,
and it is hereby requested to audit the records of the
Auditor-Treasurer of the Town. concerning the Town' s fi-
nances for one year, from July 1, 1943 through June 30,
1944, ' and that the said Town will pay the Commonwealth
of Virginia for making said audit; and James L. McIntosh,
Recorder Pro-tem, is authorized and requested to execute
a certified copy of this Resolution to be mailed to the
Auditing Department of the Commonwealth of Virginia .

On motion of Councilman Fiske , seconded by Councilman Houri-
hane, and unanimously carried, the following Resolution was adopt-
ed:

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be, and he
is hereby authorized and instructed to pay the balance
of $4,000.00 on or before June 30, 1944, due on the note
of $9,000.00 , which was borrowed for the purpose of pay-
ing the balance due on the Town Parking Lot.
On motion of Councilman Fiske, seconded by Councilman Rollins ,
and duly carried (Councilmen Oliver and Turley voting in the neg-
ative) , the following Resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia, that the Dog Ordinance , now existing
on the Current Ordinance Book, be .rescinded.

It was moved by Councilman Oliver, seconded by .Councilman
Fiske and unanimously carried, that the Auditor-Treasurer be au-
thorized to have the White Way light standards painted.
Mayor Bradfield advised the Council that the 39th annual
meeting of the League of Virginia Municipalities would be held
in Roanoke , Virginia , September 24, 25 & 26, 1944 , and urged as
many of the Councilmen to attend as could possibly do so.
On motion of Councilman Fiske , seconded by Councilman Rol-
lins , and unanimously carried, the follow Ordinance was passed: . ' •
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia , that George E. Ward be, and he is •
hereby appointed Recorder for the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia , to fill the unexpired term of Louis T.
Titus , resigned.•
There being no further business , on motion duly made, second-
• ed and carried, the Council adjourned at 9: 10 P. M.

At a regular meeting of the mayor and Town Council of the
Town aoy Leesburg held in the council chamber on Monday, July 10,
1944,/there were present: E. N. Bradfield, Mayor, George E. Ward,
Recorder, C. W. Fiske , J. T . Hourihane, J. L. McIntosh', J. L.
Oliver, L. C. Rolli#s, and J. H. Turley, Councilmen.

The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and upop
motion duly made, seconded and carried were approved as read.
The Auditor-Treasurer read his Monthly report for the month
of June, 1944, his Quarterly report for the quarter ending June 30,
1944 and his Annual statement for the fiscal year ending June 30,
1944, and upon motion of Councilman Turley, seconded by Councilman
Oliver and unanimously carried the following resolution was adopter}
