Austin Wright be increased from $25.00 per week to $26.00 per week, A .L. Hardy from $24.00 to $26.00 per week, and T. Everett Athey from $22.00 to $24.00 per week, all said salaries and wages shall be retroactive to November 1, 1944. There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the Council adjourned at :15 P.M. Recorder APPROVED: Lecember 11, 1944 Regular At a 'regular meeting of the Mayor and Towt Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council chamber on Monday, December 11, 1944 at 7:30 P.M. , there were present: E.N.Bradfield, Mayor, George E. Ward, Recorder, C.W.Fiske , James L. McIntosh, Joseph L. Oliver, L.C.Rollins and J.H.Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman 'C .W.Fiske, seconded by Councilman Joseph L. Oliver they were unanimously approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of November, 1944 and presented the current bills and=.upon motion of Councilman C .VI.Fiske , seconded by Councilman James L. McIntosh, and unanimously carried the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be , andhe is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: Virginia Electric & Power Company: Mayor' s Office and Fire House $ 6.30 Fire Siren 4.00 General Pump$ng - 116.58 Harrison Pumping 12.18 Sewerage and Disposal Plant - - - 5.88 Street Lighting - 131.04 White Way Lighting ___aL12_ ST 365.48 Va. -Carolina Chemical Co . , - 10.77 C & P Telephone Co . - .60 Mutual Fire Insurance Co . of Loudoun Co.-- 31.50 Earl L. M. McDonald appeared before the Council and asked whether the Town of Leesburg would be willing to turn over to the Fire Department, the entire and complete management of said Fire Department . After some discussion, the matter was referred to the Fire Committee for their consideration and recommendation with instructions to report back at the next meeting of Council. A letter from Mr. T.S.Alexander, asking for an increase of $18.00 per month for hauling garbage , was read to the Council and after discussion of same and upon motion of Councilman C .W.Fiske, 379 seconded by Councilman James L. McIntosh and duly carried (Council- man Turley not voting) the Mayor was instructed to confer with Mr. Alexander and offer him a new contract at $50.00 per month, effect- . ive as of December 1, 1944. W� Recorder i May r January 8, 1945 Regular At a regular meeting og the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia , held in the Council chamber on Monday, January 8, 1945, at 7: 30 P.M. , there were present: E.N.Bradfield, Mayor, George E. Ward, Recorder, C.W.Fiske, James L. McIntosh, aoseph L. Oliver and J. H. Turley, Councilmen. The minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion of Councilman Joseph L. Oliver, seconded by Councilman C .W.Fiske they were unanimously approved as read. A committee from the Fire Department, headed by Fire Chief appeared before Council to ascertain what action had been taken by the Fire Committee of the Town Council in reference to turning over to the Fire Department the entire and complete management of said Fire Department. The Fire Committee reported that they would like to have additional time in which to consider the matter and upon motion of Councilman J.H.Turley, seconded by Councilman Jospph L. Oliver and unanimously carried, the Committee was continued. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of December , 1944, his Quarterly report for the quarter ending Decem- ber -30, 1944 and his annual statement for the calendar year ending December 30, 1944, and upon motion of Councilman Joseph L. Oliver, seconded by Councilman C.W.Fiske and unanimously carried, the follow- ing Resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer has this day presented to tie Counclil of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, a quarterly statement of • all receipts and an analysis of all disbursements for the months of October, November and December, 1944; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia , that the said quarterly report of the Audi- tor-Treasurer be and it is hereby approved and accepted by said Councl BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the said Council that the Auditor,- Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to have a copy of the said quarterly report published once in a newspaper published in said Town and also post a copy of the said report in front of the Court House in the said Town.
