Pedestrian Crossings
All vehicles must stop for any pedestrian attempting to cross at
any marked intersection, with or without lights. It is illegal to
pass a car stopped at a crosswalk – visibility is restricted so
assume a pedestrian is crossing. Pedestrians, PLEASE, use
marked crosswalks and always operate the lights. You are
helping to train drivers! After pedestrians clear the intersection,
vehicles may proceed without waiting for flashers to stop.
WATCH OUT FOR CHILDREN!
Cyclists, please, use 2nd Ave/Van Horn bike routes. Cyclists
have all responsibilities of vehicles, including stopping at stop
signs! Cyclists also have all rights of motor vehicles. Drivers must
provide 3’ clearance when passing a cyclist!
