The Street Committee reported that they had completed their survey
of the town in reference to the laying of sidewalks where found needed
and recommended that when the town is ready to do the •work,the following
streets be given first condideratioa;
1. West side of Wirt street between Cornwall and North streets .
2. East Market street from Harrison street to corporate limits
eastward.
/ 3. North side of West North street between King and Wirt streets .
There being no further business, on motion duly made, seconded
and unanimously carried, the Council adjourned.

At a Special meeting of the Mayor qnd Town Council Q' the Townrof
Leesburg) in Virginia held in the Council Chamber on Monday, April -15,
1946 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. there were present: E.N.Bradfield, Mayor,
George E. Ward, Recorder, C. W. Fiske,James L. McIntosh, Joseph L. Olive
Thelma J. Smoot and J. H. Turley, Councilmen.
The Purpose of the meeting was to allow any citizen of the Town
of Leesburg, to present their views on the proposed budget. for the fiscal
year beginning July 1, 1946 and ending June 30) 1947.
There being no one present for the aforesaid purpose, the meet-
ing adjourned. . .

Regular May 13, 1946
At a regulular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the
Town of Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday,
May 13, 1946 at 8:00 o' clock P.M. , there were present: E.N.Bradfield,
Mayor, George E. Ward, Recorder, C.W.Fiske, James L. McIntosh, Joseph
L. Oliver, L.C .Rollins, Thelma J. Smoot and J.H.Turley, Councilmen:
The minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion
of J.H.Turley, seconded by C.W.Fiske and unanimously carried, they were
approved as read.
The Mayor presented and read to the meeting an agreement for -
the purchase of street and highway lighting service, traffic lighting
service and miscellaneous light and power service from the Virginia
Electric and Power Company, a copy of which said agreement is attached
IIto and made a part of these minutes, and the Mayor then stated that the
proposed agreement for the purchase of electric service was, in his
opinion very advantageous to the Town. Thereupon a general discussion
ensued, and upon motion of Joseph L. Oliver, seconded by J.H.Turley and
unanimously carried, it was
"Resolved, that the proposed agreement for the purchase of
street and highway lighting service, traffic lighting service, and mis-
cellaneous light and power service from the Virginia Electric and Power
Company by the Town of Leesburg, Virginia, be and it hereby is approved.
"Resolved Further, that the Mayor of the Town of Leesburg be
and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute and deliver the said
agreement on behalf of the Town, and the Recorder of the said Town be
and he hereby is authorized and directed to affix the seal of the Town
to the said agreement and attest the same ."
The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of
April, 1946, and- presented the current bills and upon motion of Jodeph
L. Oliver, seconded by C .W.Fiske and unanimously carried, the following
. resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia,
that the Auditor-Treasurer be , and he is hereby authorized and directed
. to pay the following bills:

On motion of C.W.Fiske, seconded by James L. McIntosh, and unani-
mously carried, the following resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, the following proposed budget was presented to the Council
on the 11th day of March, 1946 and the same was published in a news-
paper published in the Town of Leesburg, and a Special Meeting of the
Council was held on the 15th day of April, 1946, and no objection was
made thereto by any citizen of the Town;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia, that the following budget be and the same is hereby
approved and adopted:

On motion of Joseph L. Oliver , seconded by J.H.Turley and
unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
II Virginia, that the Resolution passed on April 8, 1946, authorizing
the Building Committee to rent the auditorium and hall in the Town
"Hall Building to the uld Dominion Appliance Co. for a period of two
years, be and it is hereby rescinded.

mously carried, the following resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that all parking restrictions on the South side of Market
street between King and Wirt Streets,. except in front of fire plugs
and alleys, be and they are hereby rescinded.
On- motion of Joseph L. Oliver, seconded by C.W.Fiske; and
unanimously' carried, the following resolution was adopted:
BE' IT RESOLVED, b y the Council of the Town of Leesburg,

in Virginia, that the Auditor_Treasurer be, and he is hereby autho-
rized and directed to purchase- a uniform for George T. harvey, t'oliceman,
said uniform to consist of one coat and two pair of trousers. -.
On motion of Thelma J. Smoot, seconded by Joseph L. Oliver
and carried'-.by;a c5.:.to.•0'- vote, (Fiske not voting) Council adopted a
resolution to be sent to Governor Tuck of Virginia, asking that he re-
appoint Hon. Howard C. Rogers, of Hamilton, Loudoun County, Va. as a
member of the State Highway Commission.
There being no further business, on motion duly seconded
and carried, council adjourned.

At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the

• day, June 10, 1946 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. there were present: E.N.

. • The minutes of the last meeting were read and upon motion
of C.W.Fiske, seconded by Joseph L. Oliver and unanimously carried
they. were approved as read.
D. M. McDonald, Chief of the Leesburg Fire Company, ap-
peared before Council and asked the use of the Town Parking Lot for
the Fireman's Carnival, to be held June 29 through July 6, 1946.
On motion of J.H. Turley, seconded by L.C.Rollins and unanimously
carried, the request was granted.
