After discussion of same and upon motion of J.L.Oliver, seconded by J.L.Mclntosh and unanimously carried the matter was referred to the 'Trash Committee with power to work out a satisfactory agreement with Mr. Alexander. On motion of C .W.Fiske, seconded by Thelma J. - Smoot and unani- mously carried, the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Vir- ginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to each Official and each Councilman attending the Convention of 'the League of Virginia Municipalitits, the sum of $25.00. On motion of J. L. Mntoek$econded by Louis T. Titus nl unanimously carried, the Street C mmittee was authorized to contact a competent engineer to prepare plans1hnd establish proper grade levels for curbs and sidewalks' in the twos. Mayor Lowenbach advised Council of a contemplated courtesy drive IIagainst traffic violations. On motion of C.W.Fiske, seconded by Louis T. Titus and unani- mously carried, a request to use the Tann Hall building as a meeting place for Boy :Scouts, was referred to the Building Committee with in- structions to report back to Council. . The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of 40• September, 1947, his Quarterly report far the quarter ending Septem- ber 30, 1947, and upon motion of L. T:'Titps; -seconded;;by C . Fiske and unanimou&ty:carried, the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS; the Auditor-Treasurer has this day presented to the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, a quarterly statement of all receipts' and an analysis of all disbursements for the months of July, August and September, 1947; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the said quarterly report of the Auditor- Treasurer be and it is hereby approved and accepted by'said Council; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council that the Auditor-Treas- urer be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to have a copy of the said quarterly report published once in a newspaper, published in .said town and also post a copy of the said report in front of the Court House in the said twon. Smoot, and unanimously carried, the following Ordinance was enacted: BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Tcwin of Leesburg, in Virginia, that it shall be unlawful and constitute a misdemeanor for. person to leave a motor vehicle parked on any street of the Town with the motor running. Any person convicted of such an offense shall be fined not less than $1.00 nor more than $10.00. (A copy of. this Ordi- nance may be found in the Current Ordinance Hook) 441• On motion of C . W.
