M. there were present: Maurice R. Lowenbach, or. Mayor, ueorge E. ward, necorder, C.W.Fiske, E.H. James, J.L.Mcintosh, J.L.Oliver and 'Tbelma J. Smoot, Councilmen. The pu▪ rpose of the meeting was to allow any citizen of the Town of Leesburg to present their views on the report and recom- mendatioh of the board of Zoning Appeals on the application of J.T. Hirst & Co. Inc. and the Leesburg Laundry, Inc . to change their place of business from 'Business" to "Industrial" classification. • There• being no one present for the aforesaid purpose, the meeting adjourned. ( Mayo . • Regular July 12, 1948 At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, July i2). 1948 at 7:40 o'clock P.M. , there were present: Maurice R. Lowenbach, Jr. Mayor, ueorge E. Ward, tcecorder, C.W.Fiske, E.H.James, J.L.Mclntosh, J.L.Oliver and Thelma J. Smoot, Councilmen. The minutes of the last meetings were read and upon .motion of J.L.Oliver, seconded by Thelma J . Smoot and unanimously carried they were approved as read.. . The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of June, 1948, his, Quarterly report for the quarter ending June 30, 1948 and his Annual statement for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1948 and upon motion. of E.H.James, seconded by J.L.Oliver and unanimously car- ried the following resolution was adopted: . WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer has this day presented to the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, a quarterly statement of ail receipts and an analysis of all disbursements for the months of • April, May, and June, 1948; NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the said quarterly report oft the 460. • Auditor-Treasurer be and it is hereby approved and accepted by said Council; • • BE IT FURTHER -RESOLVED, by the Council that the AuditoflTreasurer be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to have a. copy of the said quarterly report published . once in a newspaper, published in said town and also post a copy of said report in front of the Court House in the said town. • The Auditor-Treasurer presented the current bills and upon motion of J.L.Oliver, seconded by J.L.Mclntosh and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in II Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following .bills: - Virginia Electric & Power Co. Co. . $ 1. 0 _ The Mayor read to Council the regular monthly report of the Police Department as submitted by Town Sergeant J.A.Thompson. On motion of J.L.Oliver, seconded by J.L.Mclntosh and unani- mously carried, an Ordinance was enacted providing for amendment to Zoning Regulations affedting .the property of Mark White now occupied - by J-.T.Hirst & Co. inc. , and the property of Leesburg Laundry,: Inc. . A copy of this ordinance may be found in the current Ordinance Book. A proposed Sub-Division Control Ordinance was read to Council by the Mayor following which same was explained by Miss Carol Cornwell, County Zoning Administrator and thoroughly discussed by council. On _ motion of Mrs. Thelma J. Smoot, seconded by C.W.Fiske and unanimously carried,it was ordered that a public hearing on the proposed ordinance - be held on August 4, 1948 at 8:00 o 'clock P.
