At a Special meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday, August 4, 1948 at 8:00 o 'clock P.M.. there were present: Maurice R. Lowenbach, or. Mayor, C.W.Fiske, E.H.James, J.L.Oliver., J.L.Mclntosh and Thelma. J. Smoot, Councilmen. -• The purpose of the meeting was to allow any citizen of the Town of Leesburg to present their views on. -the proposed Subdivision Con- trol ordinance, due notice having been given through. the press July 15 and July 22, 1948 of said meeting. On motion of C.W.Fiske, seconded by Thelma J . Smoot and unani- mously carried, J.L.Mclntosh was elected necorder, pro-tem. Mr. Francis L. Patton, appeared before Council and commended the body for considering a Subdivision Control Ordinance. however, he offered several suggestions with respect to. the ordinance, to be considered at a later date. Mrs. R.S.Pickens, Chairman of the Loudoun. County Planning Com- mission, also spoke in behalf of the ordiaance. Mr. Horace M. Hallett, County Sanitation Officer, referred to several corrections, which were embodied in the ordinance. Miss Carol Cornwell, County Zoning.Administrator, was also present and participated in the discussion. No one else appearing, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Council adjourned. At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday, August 9) 1948 at 7:40 otclock P.M. , there were present: Maurice R. Lowenbach, or. Mayor, George E. Ward, Hecorder, .C.W.Fiske, E.H.James, J.L.Mclntosh, J.L.Oliver and Thelma 3 . Smoot, Councilmen. The minutes of the last meetings wereread and upon motion of C.W.Fiske, ,seconded by J.L.Oliver and unanimously carried, they were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of July, 1948, and presented the current bills and upon motion of C.W. Fiske, seconded by J.L.Mclntosh and unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Vir- ginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: Virginia -Electric & Power Co. Mayor' s Office & Fire House $ 1.80 General Pumping - - - - - 39.12 Harrison Pumping - 7.53 Disposal Plant - .30 Street Lighting - 158.13 Whiteway Lighting 16.40 $223.28 ST C & P Telephone Co. of Va. - .25 Gill Bros .
