for town sewage plant. Council further authorized the Auditor-Treasurer to advertise
for bid for the construction of sidewalk, curb and gutter on the north side of Corn-
wall St. from Church Street east to Nazarene Church, and curb and gutter on Union St.
from North King St. to Wirt St. . . .
Upon motion of Frances L. Patton, seconded by C. W. Fiske and unanimously car-
ried, the Auditor-Treasurer was requested to contact the following men and secure one
to serve as consultant engineer for the airport: 1st. Mr. William J. Cox, Leesburg,
2nd, Mr. A. B. McDaniels, Waterford, and 3rd, Mr. Warren C. Parrow, Richmond.
Council requested Mayor Lowenback to contact Mr. James A. kcWharton of Annadale

and request that he appear before Council August 10 at 7:00 P. M. to discuss the pos-
sibilities of his making an annexation survey and to discuss this type work and fees
with the council.
Mr. Oliver reporting for the committee appointed to make an-. investigation of
the Margaret Diggs property as to damage of side property stated that as of the present
no damage had been done, but he did know as to what extent,if any, would be inflicted
should the sidewalk be laid according to the present grade level.
The Police Committee reccommended that police call box or signal lights be placed
at several points through out the Town if possible. .
Upon motion of Frank Raflo seconded .by Francss L. Patton and carried by a vote
of (3 to 2) Patton, Raflo, and Fiske voting for Oliver and James against, the following
resolution was adopted, - • .
BE IT RESOLVED, .by the Council .of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Audtior-
Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to limit the Greyhound buses park-
ing space to one space .in each direction, and that parking meters be installed at places
now used by the buses. • .
Couhcil authorized the Audtor reasurer to employ Edwin Beaversto paint the Town's
watertank on time and material basis. . .
Upon motion duly made seconded and carted Council adjourned.

- At a special meeting of the Mayor and.Town .Council held in the Council Chamber on
July 24, 1950 at 7:30 oclock P. M. , there were present Maurice R. LowenbachJr; Mayor
C. W. Fiske, E. H. James, Frances L. Patton, and.Frank Raflo Councilmen.
In absence of Recorder Horace M. Hallett, Councilman Frank Raflo was elected to
serve as Recorder Pro-tern.
Upon motion of Frank.L. Patton and seconded E. H. James and unaminously carried
the Auditor-Treasurer was authorized and directed to.readvertise for bids for the con-
struction side .walks, curb, and gutter as set forth in the minutes of the regular meet-
ing of Council .for the month of July 1950.
