ORDINANCE NO. 08 -923U
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AMENDING THE MORATORIUM IMPOSED UNDER ORDINANCE NOS. 08 -919U AND
08-921U BY ADDING ADDITIONAL EXEMPTIONS — UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 65858 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY ORDAIN, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Findings: The City Council hereby determines that it has previously adopted Ordinance
Nos. 08 -919U and 08-921U imposing a moratorium on some non - retail uses along portions of Las
Tunas Drive, but providing for some exemptions thereto. The Council now finds that some
additional exemptions can and should be allowed without impairing the effectiveness of the
moratorium.
Section 2: Section 4 of Ordinance No. 08 -919U is hereby amended by adding two more
exemptions to the moratorium, as follows:
f) Any business located on other than the ground floor;
g) Any business located in a building of less than 1,000 square feet.
Section 3: This ordinance is adopted as an urgency ordinance for the reasons set forth in
Government Code Section 65858, and for the reasons set forth in Ordinance Nos. 08 -919U and
08 -921 U and for the benefit of the City, as recommended by the Planning Commission on July
22, 2008.
Section 9. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the
same to be published according to law.

I, City Clerk of the City of Temple City, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance,
Ordinance No. 08 -923U, was introduced as an Urgency Ordinance at the regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Temple City held on the 5th day of August, 2008, and was duly passed,
approved and adopted by said Council at the regular meeting held on the 5th day of August, 2008
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmember- Gillanders, Vizcarra, Wong, Capra, Wilson
NOES: Councilmember -None
ABSENT: Councilmember -None
ABSTAIN: Councilmember -None
