HomeMy Public PortalAbout1951_04_23SPEC 31 BE IT RESLOVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, That the Tri- County Electric Cooperative, is and they are hereby given permission to install a two-way radio antenna on top of the Town's water tank, propiding it is installed so as to meet and pass all C. A. A. requirements, and that the said Cooperative will carry all public libality, and personal damage insurance for this the said installition and as long as said two-way radio antenna is mounted on the said wat- er tank. A letter from the Leesburg Home Demerstration Club was read in which they requested, that they be put on record as reccommendiAg that all homes and business buildings not now connected to the town public sewer be connected, Upon motion of J. L. Oliver, seconded by Francis L. Patton and carried by a vote of (4 'to 2) 'Oliver, Patton, 'Smoot; and James for Raflo, and Fiske against the following resolution eras 'adopted: BE IT RESOLVED' by the Couxicil 'of the ToWn of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is here by 'authorized and directed to have the side walk relayed in front 'of Mies 'Courtney hothead per agreement that Miss Courtney furnish the bricks 'for slid' construction: ' The Finance Committee 'presented 'tlie 'proposed budget for the fiscal year begin- - ing July 1; 1951,' and ending 'Jund 30; 1952; end upon motion of C. R. Fiske, seconded by E. H. James, and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer Has this 'day presented to Council a budget show- ing the annual receipts' and disbursements for the fisical year 1950 and the estimat- ed receipts' and disbursements for the finical year begining July 1, 1951, and ending June .30, 1952, ' • ' ' ' ' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL4ED, 'by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virg- inia, that the Aüditdr-Tredsdrér 'b4, 'arid he is hereby authorized; instructed, and directed to have 'the aforesaid budget published once in a newspaper published in said town, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia., that there will be a meeting of the said Council in the Council Chamberof the Town ' Hall building, in the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, at 8:00 o'clock, P. 'M. , on Mon- day April 23rd, 1951, for the purpose of given any citizen of the Town of Leesburg the right to appear before Council and state his views on the aforesaid budget. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that due notice be published once 'in a newspaper, pub- lished 'in said town of Leesburg, of said meeting. At a special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held ingthe Council Chamber on Monday April 23, 1951, at 8:00 o'clock P.M. there were present Maurice R. Lowenbach, Jr; Mayor, Horace M. 'Hallett, Recorder, Thelma J. Smoot, Councilmen,_r.. The purpose of the meeting was to allow any citizen of the Town of Leesburg to present their views on the proposed budget for the fiscal year begining July 1, 1951, and ending June 30, 1952: There being no one present for the aforesaid meeting, and purpose the meeting was adjourned.
