CITY OF TEMPLE CITY

The adjourned meeting of the City Council held in the Council
Chambers at 7:00 A. M. on November 15, 1962, was called to order by
Mayor Tyrell.

Tyrell
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Wooll'ett, and Mr. Fickes of Ficket,
& Fickes, architects for the new library,
ABSENT: Councilmen -None
Councilman Fitzjohn first presented a letter received From
Otto Mason of the office of Administration of the Temple City School ,
District, requesting the City to furnish a share of the funds necessary
for the purchase of new band uniforms for the High School. Band. The
total cost for 100 uniforms would be $6000. of which $950. had been
previously donated. They request the City to allocate $3000. toward
this purchase.
Following considerable discussion it was agreed that the
band represented the City numerous times during the year and that it
was a feasible expenditure considering community promotion. However
as the $950. had already been donated, it left a balance of $5050. to
be appropriated. Councilman Fitzjohn moved that if the school dis-
trict would pay $2525. that the City would appropriate $2525., which
together with the $950. already donated would make the total of $6000.
Councilman Nunamaker seconded, roll call vote as follows:
AYES: Councilmen- Dickason, Fitzjohn, Merritt, Nunamaker, Tyrell
