RESOLUTION AWARDING OF CONTRACT FOR THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION STP -E- 7662(609) -8V -52 TIFFIN CITY PARK TRAIL PHASE FOUR
WHEREAS: on the 27th day of June, 2011, the Iowa Department of Transportation has
acknowledged that the plans, specifications, and form of contract were accepted and reviewed
on behalf of Tiffin, Iowa, for the STP -E- 7662(609 )-8V -52 PCC Sidewalk / Trail Tiffin City Park
Trail Phase Four project.
WHEREAS: on the 27th day of June 2011 the Iowa Department of Transportation has
determined that Metro Pavers, Inc. of Iowa City to be the lowest responsible bidder.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY The City of Tiffin, Iowa, that the said plans,
specifications and form of contract and award of contract are hereby approved for this above -
mentioned project. The award of contract will be extended to Metro Pavers, Inc. for approval for
the amount of $146,275.44.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council has budgeted for the project in the fiscal
year 2011 -2012 and TIF Funds will be used to fund the project. It is understood that the Iowa
Department of Transportation will reimburse the City of Tiffin for approximately 80% of cost of
project. Original award estimated at $161,844.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa to authorize the Mayor and
City Clerk to sign all necessary notices, documents, and forms of contract, as required and
necessary to execute a contract which was identified and recommended by the City Engineer.
Resolution 2011 -32 was introduced by Councilperson Travis Weipert and made a motion for
approval. Motion seconded by Councilperson Chris Ball.

NAY:None
ABSENT: Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen
With: three votes for approval, Mayor Phillips now declares Resolution 2011 -32

TRANSPORTATION STP -E- 7662(609) -8V -52 TIFFIN CITY PARK TRAIL PHASE FOUR
passed and approved this 13th day of July 2011.
