City Planning Division Section 1230.1
1230.1 SUBJECT: ORGANIZATION AND POLICY
:1 OBJECTIVE:
Plan for community development; develop and enforce zoning, land use, and historical
preservation codes and ordinances.
:2 AUTHORITY:
This procedure adopted by City Council on October 11, 2004, Item A4.
:3 DIRECTION:
The City Planning Division Manager receives direction from the Economic
Development Department Director.
:4 FUNCTIONS:
A. Renders operational guidance and direction to Sections in the Planning Division:
1. Current Planning
2. Long Range Planning
3. Transportation Planning
4. Urban Design and Historic Preservation
5. Strategic Planning and Special Projects
B. Serves as technical advisor to the Mayor and City Council on matters pertaining to
planning and development and reports on the activities and recommendations of the
following citizen boards related to the Planning Division:
1. Municipal Planning Board
2. Board of Zoning Adjustment
3. Historic Preservation Board
4. Orlando-Orange County Airports Zoning Board
5. Orlando-Orange County Airports Zoning Board of Adjustment
C. Serves as chairman of the Baldwin Park Town Design Review Committee
(BPTDRC) and of the Southeast Town Design Review Committee (SETDRC).
D. Coordinates and assists in annexation projects.
E. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be directed by the Mayor and/or
City Council.
F. In conjunction with the Management, Budget and Accounting Department,
coordinates with all City departments in the preparation of the annual Five-Year
Capital Improvement Program for review and action by the Municipal Planning
Board and City Council.
