Full council was invited to attend this meeting as this was the end of the month adjustments to the budget. Present: Mayor Charles J. Hosti, Jack Youmans, Paul Jackson, Jimmy Brown, Pat Locklear and Bill Walsh. City Treasurer Patricia Pagan and Rowena Fripp were in attendance. Councilman Dukes questioned whether we should start being worried about running a deficit. Revenue down - expenses up, do we need any corrective action at this time? Councilman Jackson stated that we could cut back in spending. Mayor Hosti said that looking back over the past four years, the revenues start going down after the month of July. Councilman Dukes said that there were 22 line items over spent. He said he was under the impression that we don't bust the budget unless approved by councilman. We need procedure and management practiced. It is so noted that no purchase order will be signed and approved unless the balance is shown on that purchase order. Rowena will do a note to all department heads. Councilman Dukes said that there are four proposed expenditures to be discussed. 1. Raises $25,000.00 2. Backhoe 22,220.00 3. Van 37,000.00 4. No interest for 9 months, monies will come from 259. A meeting for finance and full council is set for August 19th at 8:30 A.M. to go over all proposed raises for employees. ** The mayor requested Patricia Pagan to take $347.00 out of 1626 and put it in 1625 to cover GMA expenses for councilmembers.
