The Council requested the Virginia State Highway Department to
erect a sigh on the east and west ends of Town suggesting to traffic that
they used the through streets to the right both going east and west.
' Upon motion of Emerson H. James, seconded by Harry f. Newton, and
unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted:

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to •
pay off the balance due on the parking meters.
•
Council authorized and directed the Auditor-Treasurer to purchase
—badge ands ripe for the Sgt; Jackson.
' Upon motion of Vernon L. Claggett, seconded by Emmerson H. James, '
and carried by a vote of 5 to 0 Mrs. Smoot not voting, the following re-
solution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that Lewis Ball, Raymond Hough, and •L. S. Moreland, be and they are hereby
given permission to tap on to the water line• east of the Town know as the
Honicon water line. 0

Mayor Dailey read'a'letter from Officer Foreland, in which he re-
quested the Torn pay $50.00'repair bill•on his car which was damage dur-
ing time being used'for'the•the•Town police work, Upon motion of Morton
Riddle, seceded by Winslow Williams; and cariied.byt a vote of 4 to 2
Riddle, Williams, 'Smoot'and'James; for, •Clagget and Newton against, the
following resolution was adopted: * • •
BE IT RESOLVED, •by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia
that the Auditor-Treasurer be'and'he is hereby atthorized and directed to
pay Officer L. S. 'Moreland $50.00-for the damages inflicted to his car
while being used for police'work, •and'that. the policemen be notified that
. the Town would not be'responseable for any further loss in such cases, •
and that if the policemen'used their Oats' in line of duty that they would
do so at their own risk: ' ' ' ' ' ' . '
Upon motion-of Morton'Riddle, ' seconded by Emmerson H. James, and un-
aminously Ill:
carried; the Auditor-Treasurer and the Police Committee were re-
quested to secure'bids on'a'police car. ' ' '

SPECIAL FEBRUARY 15, 1952.
At a special matting of the Mayor and_Council of the Town of Leesburg
_ in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, -on Friday February, 15, 1952, at
5 o'clock P. Id. , there were present E. S. Dailey; Mayor, Horace Di. Hallett,
Recorder, Vernon L. Claggett, Emmerson H. James, Harry F. Newton, -Morton
Riddle, and Council' men.
Upon motion of Morton Riddle seconded by Emterson H. James, and.e-
carried the Auditor-Treasurer, was authorized and directed to em-
4o ploy and attorney to repesent the Town in the case of Tavinere,BBadfield,
vs the Town_ of Leesburg.
Upon motion of Morton Riddle, seconded by, Emmerson H. James, and
,, carried the following resolution was adopted:

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council�.of the Town' of Leesburg, in Virginia
that Tavineers Store be and they are hereby give permission-to use the bus
stop for loading and unloading, except at times when a test bound bus is •
scheduled in or -through the town.
