TIC – The Industrial Company has continuously operated since 1974, primarily as a general
contractor, performing work in the Continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico.
Since 1986, TIC has maintained a Marine and Heavy Civil operation operated out of Savannah,
Georgia.
The Savannah based Marine and Heavy Civil District has performed numerous bridge, marine, and
salvage projects along the east coast for such clients as: U.S Navy, El Paso Energy, Georgia Port
Authority, South Carolina Port Authority, various states’ Department of Transportation, and many
others. Our salvage experience includes 7 barges, 2 ferries, 3 tugboats, 2 dredges, 3 yachts, and 5
shrimp boats. The vessels ranged in size from 20 tons to 800 tons and in water depths up to 45 feet.
The district office and construction yard is located on Hutchinson Island on the Savannah River. In
addition to its construction and salvage capabilities, the Marine and Heavy Civil District also
operates a 31,000 square foot fabrication shop, large machine shop, and equipment shop from its
Gwinnett Street yard.
In December 2008, The Industrial Company was purchased by Kiewit Corporation. Kiewit is
consistently ranked among the top 10 contractors by Engineering News Record, and through this
acquisition TIC has gained access to a nearly unlimited supply of resources and expertise, providing
our construction us with people and equipment needed to provide quality work to our clients safely,
on time, and ahead of schedule.

TIC complies with all federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations as well as
implements reasonable measures to minimize the environmental impact from our operations. TIC
exercises sound business practices to:
· Prevent discharging pollutants that impact stormwater
· Prevent releases of hazardous and toxic pollutants to the air, soil, and/or water
· Provided environmental compliance training and education for our employees
· Seek to prevent pollution before it is produced, and reduce the amount of waste at our
facilities
· Work continuously to improve the effectiveness of our environmental program
Full environmental compliance is a requirement on all TIC projects. TIC has a very stringent
environmental manual that all projects must adhere to. In many cases, our policies go beyond what
is required by law. We also have our own Environmental Manager located here in Savannah that
will be consulted during this project.
On this project, we will have oil spill kits on our vessels and will have oil boom on site. Disposal
will be at an approved site designated to receive such waste.

The following is our preliminary work plan for the project:
1. Prior to mobilizing the crane on barge, hook up rigging on all equipment and tie rigging to
buoys/ropes in order to locate at high tide.
2. The barge will be mobilized to location #1 at high tide.
3. End of Barge must be within 110’ of the Backhoe to perform the lift.
4. Hook the backhoe rigging to the crane.
5. While the crew uses 3” pump hoses to loosen the suction from the mud around the backhoe,
lift the backhoe enough to break it free of the suction of the mud.
6. The Rigging Supervisor will re-inspect the rigging.
7. Upon the Rigging Supervisor’s approval, the backhoe will be lifted and staged securely on
the barge. (once on the barge oil boom will be placed on the deck it)
8. Demobilize the crane and barge to Location #2 prior to low tide.
9. Hook the F-150 truck rigging to the crane and lift the truck enough to break it free of the
mud.
10. The Rigging Supervisor will re-inspect the rigging.
11. Upon the Rigging Supervisor’s approval, the F-150 truck will be lifted and staged securely
on the barge. (once on the barge oil boom will be placed on the deck it)
12. Demobilize the crane and barge prior to low tide.
13. TIC will notify the Owner when to have trucks at 205 Hutchinson Island Road to haul off
the retrieved equipment.
