At a special muting of the 'Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber Monday •Jul, 29, 1952, at 7:,30 o'clock P.M., there were present, E. S., Dailey,_ Mayor, ,Horace . Hallett, Recorder, Vernon L. . Claggett, Emmerson H. James, .Harry F. Newton, and Morton Riddle, Councilmen. 'Upon motion of Emmerson -H.James , seconded by Harry F. Newton and unanimous- ly carried the following resolution was adopted: • WHEREAS, Mayor E. S. Dailey will be absent from the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, for a period of three, weeks, and therefore will be unavailable to count- ' ersign all checks required by a town ordinance, therefore BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, that Horace M. Hallett, Recorder for the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, be and he is _ hereby, authorized, instructed, and directed to countersign all checks drawn by. the Town Treasurer on funds in either the Peoples National Bank in Leesburg, or The Loudoun National Bank in Leesburg, for a period beginning August, 4, 1952, and ending August 25, 1962 or upon the return of Mayor E. S. Dailey, at which time this order will be withdrawn. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution, properly executed and • certified to by the Recorder, be filed with the Peoples National Band and The Loud- • oun National Bank, Leesburg, Virginia. - �'e ;tif _i�.�, � 1 . REGULAR August 11,1952. • • At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Leesburg • in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, On Monday, •August 11, 1952, at 7:30 o'clock P. M., there were Present Horace M. Hallett, Recorder, Vernon L. Clagg- ' ett, Emmerson H. James, Harry F. Newton, Morton Riddle, and Winslow Williams, Councilmen. E. S. Dailey, Mayor, being absent, Council appointed Horace M. Hallett • to preside over the meeting. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Emmerson H. James, seconded by Morton Riddle, and Unaaminously carried were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of July 1952, and presented the current bills, and upon motion of Emerson H. James, seconded by Harry F. Newton, and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: Va; Electric & Power, Co; 259.20 C. & P.
